Hey guys,

I live around Leslie and Bayview and I've been going primarily to Markham Golf Dome for practicing ..

Recently I've been finding Markham Golf Dome quite expensive and far ..

Are there any driving ranges close to North York?

Thnx!! :)

There are couple places I like in North York.
1) Markham Golf Dome (as you mentioned) is not so expensive when you use 2-for-1 coupons from https://www.southernontariogolfer.com/default.asp (great site with lot's of coupons daily). You pay $16 for 2 buckets of golf balls (large size) and then use only one that day and another one can be used within a week or so (they have a great code-based system for ball dispensing).

2) Scarborough golf center (Tapscott Road, Steeles & Markham area). Here is the website http://www.scarfamgolf.com/ They have jumbo baskets at $12 regular price, but you can have a volume discount thru Value Card that they offer (I have $200 one for 20 baskets which works out to be $10 per basket).

3) Fairtree golf range (http://www.fairtreegolf.com/drivingrange.html) at the Major Makenzie and Kennedy Rd. Little too far from your location, but on 404 takes like 20 minutes. They have GREAT volume discounts 100 large backets for $695, which works out to be $7 per backet.

If you find other great places up north, let me know.

I like fairtree because its cheap and usually not too busy. The grass conditions are good as well.

Golden Ridge closes fairly early (last bucket @ 7:30)...i.e. not lit at night
$12 for large bucket

I would say your closest range excluding the Golf Dome is Richmond Hill Golf Course at HWY 7 & Bathurst.
$11 for a modest sized bucket.
Mats only.

There is also the range on Woodbine and Elgin Mills which has great practice facilities... the guy rarely changes the tee locations and you have to hunt for some grass though. $12 bucks for large, $15 for Jumbo.

As posted above, GoldenRidge at HWY 404 & Stouville Sd. RD is probably my favorite...

Omg, I've been there once and won't go back. It's not a dome, the farthest you get to see your ball fly is about 5 metres. They have sand and some putting area but that's about it. It was kinda run down when I tried it out...

Fairtree is probably my favourite, I haven't tried anything really north of major mac, but their grass is indeed the best. I've been to too many ranges where all you get is uneven dirt (where it's quite difficult to hit and gives you zero confidence), but this is pretty close to a real course. If anyone wants to share with me one of those buckets specials, gimme a shout. Their large buckets are really huge...

bah just remembered. fairtree i think uses cards so you can't share packages...
