Is crosswinds really worth $75 per rounds? Has anyone played the course? What do you think?

If you have or can get the Greensfee Passport, they have a whole bunch of 2-for-1 coupons for Crosswinds, which makes it DEFINITELY 'worth it!'

Nope, but it's not obscenely overpriced given the other options in the immediate area (Indian Well, Lowville, Carlisle and Hidden Lake - Camisle and Burlington Springs don't count). It's a nice course, but nothing better than anything else around so why pay more?

I just played it on Sunday afternoon for the first time, at the twilight rate ($50 after 4pm) and found that to be a pretty good value, though I did comment to my playing partner that I wouldn't pay more than that. Coming from Guelph I would rather pay prime time fee to play Guelph Lakes. The early bird option at CW is also nice in that it is $50 before 8:30am M-F.

I enjoyed CW and everything was in great condition, including pretty tough rough. My friend is from Milton so it is a pretty good midway location. The only other course in the area that I have played for any comparison would be Carlisle, though I would like to get to the others mentioned - Hidden Lake, Lowville and Indian Wells.

We played Carlisle and Hidden Lake (The New Course) this week...what a waste of money:mad: Greens...jumpy, hairy and wet....fairways...can't even recognize them from the approach or from the rough cut....Bad,very bad conditions....
Played CW on the twilight 3pm rate and you can't compare. Job well done. Also in the area...Century Pines...Very good conditions on tee decks, fairways and greens....2 for 1 was a good price...
Crosswinds should be in the $ 55-60 range I think...

I can't really say its worth $75 to walk Crosswinds because at that distance from Toronto its not a great deal. As mentioned earlier the use of a Greensfee Passport Book does make it a phenomenal deal because there is no better bargain for less than $60 per player cart included within an hour of Toronto.

While there are many decent tracks near Crosswinds, what makes it a cut better is the quality of the greens and the pace of play. The layout is nothing special, albeit it is fun to play and challenging, but on most days you can finish a round comfortably under 4.5 hours and the greens are usually faster and harder than other $75 courses.

I played this course several times since it opened and I think it is the best in that area condition wise.
However $75 dollars is steep for a round of golf anytime. I can't comment on the food, its quality or value. It has a great patio, the staff are helpful and the marshalls are not a pain as in some other higher end tracks.
Carlisle ,Walker and Hidden lakes(new course) can't compare.
The twilight rate is a decent value.
The starting hole is definitely better than most, and a real wakeup call.

Sorry! When I had been in e-mail discussion with my friend about this and other options, I had got into the habit of using CW. I want to get that friend, and myself of course, out to Copetown Woods soon. Thanks for the gentle rebuke!

Yes. Good test of golf from the back tees. Especially when the wind blows. Course is well maintained. I think they still have a $50 special for weekdays before 9am. It is IMO definitely the best public course in that area.
