Tell us about your food purchase experiences on the course, whether it be from the beverage cart or halfway house.
At Glen Abbey last year I got raped $9 for a tiny chicken sandwich at the turn and another $3 for a canned pop. Mind you the sandwich was good but so small I could have eaten three or four of em. My butt was sore after that purchase.
This is just another example of how course owners (and again Clublink heads the pack) are getting way toooooo GREEDY!!!! :nono: :nono: :nono:

Bigwin has Clublink BEAT like a rented Mule.
On course ham and cheese $10.50.
Burger at the turn $11.00
Beer $8.00
Never going back, priceless.
Those price's are all about 100% increases over the previous year. I played it the previous year and it was no where near that bad.

What does expensive sandwiches have to do with your butt hurting?
I try not to eat at GC's, they're expensive and not that tasty. I rather wait til after to have pho with everyone. $5 for a big bowl of noodles and beef.

I bring my lunch to the course and eat during my round, green fees are expensive enough........Plus pints in the backyard are cheaper and tastier

Eat before you play - kinda hard to digest that hot italian sausage on the 10 green. I bring a small bag of chips with me or a snack of some sort.
I also keep a couple bottles of water, pop etc. in the bag at all times so i don't get gouged for that $4.50 pop or water.
Also have a small flask with the crown royal in it for those cold and windy days. Takes the shivers away!

Hey GRT...I normally don't buy food at the course. On my way to the golf course I ususally pass by at least a half dozen Tim Horton's. So I buy my double double and a buttered whole wheat bagel and I'm good to play. If for some reason I'm running late or don't pass a Tim Horton's then I might just buy a bagel, muffin or juice from the pro shop food counter to pack into my golf bag. I always pack a bottle of water and I bring along a chewy granola bar to snack on too. I guess I just can't play on an empty stomach. I don't drink'n'play though. I have trouble enough hitting straight and alcoholic beverages will only make me hook more!

Before fellow members defend the term "dump", make sure you've played there in the last 5 years.

Hey grass roots suprised to hear this from you. In paris they don't charge like this? When you play a good course your generally paying for the fact you don't have to improve your lie on every shot. You guys tip it all year round don't you? Pay the extra for your meals and you might have good fairways and greens.

So I see you've played at Paris lately. I was out there yesterday thinking we may have to allow improving your lie in the fairway when we have our tournament out there due to the lack of conditioning thus far this season.
Something tells me the lack of cash to make the course see a fraction of its potential isn't from not charging enough for grub. The powers that be thought it better to spend money on advertizing to attract play than to spend money on fertilizer and pesticides and let word of mouth bring players to see what a great course you have built. :nono:
I guess some of us just do things differently.
