I'm not sure whats going on but I seem to have fallen into a sweet groove lately. I havent played much at all. I havent practiced once this year. I DID have two lessons with a Waterloo coach I highly recommend. I have tons of other things on my mind that arent neccessarily pleasent. And with all that, Im playing awesome golf right now. Mind you I still have the odd single bad swing that keeps me from shooting 66 but still. :shhh:
Who else has it going right now?

With not being able to play as much as I'd like and hardly getting the time to practice for myself either, I'm not doing too bad. Had a good back nine yesterday. Shot 1 over on the back nine, ended up with an 80. I think if there had been a range there so I could warm up, the front nine could have been better as well (I'm getting too old to just step on the first tee from the truck!). The last two times out have been just as nice. Makes me wonder what I could be doing if I had time to work on my swing!

I will let you know after this weekend?!
Well, actually as a relatively new golfer, I am fairly happy with the way I am playing as of late. Its funny – the first time I broke 90 earlier this year, I was ecstatic (I didn’t even know I shot 89 until after the round and I added up my score! I suck at math so I figured I had messed up somehow…but there it was!) However, I usually shoot in the mid-low 90s and now even a solid round with a 91 seems like something of a disappointment. Having said all that, I am becoming a consistent low 90s/high 80s player as opposed to one or two good rounds here and there and I feel that better scores are around the corner. I just wish I could putt!:help::mad:
I can only dream of dreaming of rounds of 66... Does that sentence make sense?

I've shot my personal best the last two rounds I've played and have been hitting the ball very well at all my range sessions lately too, so I seem to be in a groove. Still inconsistant with the driver, but I'm nailin' my fairway woods and my short game has improved considerably - so it all works out. Just need a little more consistency with the irons...

oh please help me, last 3 months I have been shooting low 80s to low90s. Last 2 weeks I have been so out of it, I feel like my short game and touch has dissapeared now shooting high 90s:(

Now that i am using my X-18s I'm hitting my irons sweet! And you can confirm that with RC*Q...he's my new caddy! He's tells me 7 iron and i go 7 iron!
I hit a 6 iron 170......slightly down hill and a slight breeze behind me. Pin high! I've never been able to hit a 6 iron anywhere near that!

I'm on a hot/cold streak right now, but my mid irons have really been improving lately.

I was playing some of the best golf of my life, but I recently took a two week layoff due to work and everything took a dump on me.
I'm practicing furiously trying to get back into shape for the club championships on the September long weekend, but it's gonna take some work!
Will, the Waterloo coach you are speaking of... are we talking Jimbo here? :D

Jim is the MAN. Glad to hear it is working out great for your game.
I suspect i'm going to have to go see him before the club championships in order to get things cleaned up. Whaddya think about the Whistle Bear news? I'm very excited with the prospect of being a member at a private club with no initiation fee. :D

Dont care about WB news. Im not crazy about the course nor the idea of forking out 5K for membership.

May I ask why you're not a fan of the course? I've always liked the track, and found is especially tough when the wind kicks up. And where are you getting 5K from? The unrestricted membership i'm looking at is $2,950.

I was told 3 months ago by a guy who plays there every day that they were going private and full unrestricted membership incl range and cart was going to be 5K per year.
I dont like the course as all the holes are the same. There is no signature hole and I find it difficult to remember any specific holes due to the similarity of each hole.
Also, theres no trees. This means you are never forced to shape the ball and you can just wail away on every hole.
The wind there is ridiclous. I've hit 189 yard 7irons there which is stupid long for me. I'm not a fan of wind on the golf course. They DO have the best practice facility in the area, for sure.
I enjoy the challenge of having to shape shots and thats just not going to happen at WB.
For the money theyre asking I'd rather play at Brantford G & CC. so Im one player who wont be a member you'd know, sorry.
Having said that, I'll be very lucky to afford to golf at all next year with the recent changes in my life. :(
