What's everyone's thought about the two captain's picks - Scott Verplank and Stewart Cink?
No Davis Love III, Jerry Kelly, Lumpy, Couples, or Daly...
My take is: If the big guns are not winning their matches like they are supposed to, these picks are inconsequential.

Cink was pretty much a shoe-in.

I was surprised by scott verplank. I'm glad Dl3 didnt make it, he hasnt played well enough at all this year to be on the team..
Cink and Glover would have been my picks.

The other players under consideration have not played well this year except maybe Lucas Glover at times - and the team already has a lot of rookies. Stewart Cink was an easy pick, and Verplank is a steady performer.

Brett Weterich (sp)'s got to be the most unpopular guy in the locker room at this point. He'd better go out there and win some points.
I'd much rather see Jerry Kelly brings some hockey mentality to the US team and see if it works.
DL III's got to be embarassed and furious. Last night in his interview with the golf channel, he was full of confidence and appeared assured that he was going to get picked.
