Driving a powercart

I was just wondering this, since ill be 16 by the next golf season, but how old do you have to be to drive a powercart? Or do you just need your G1, G2, or full license, etc.?

Welcome aboard GolferAV. Last time we ran into this was when my son's friend wanted to drive. They said he needed a full drivers licence for the cart, a G1 was not enough. It may vary from one course to the next.

It is usually at the discretion of the golf course. You do need a credit card though. Why would someone with such young legs want to ride anyway?

Most of the courses that I go to require a full driver's license to be able to drive the cart. I've actually had a course marshall stop me when my GF's son was driving (he was 17 but had only a G1). Just about all courses require a credit card to sign out a cart.

I'll guess, cause its cool! I let my 13 year old pull up the cart when we were out a few weeks ago. He only had to go 20 ft and was having fun until he ran over a post. Luckily no permanent damage occured.

hah well driving the cart is a lot more fun. most courses i wouldnt mind walking, but when im playing a course like braeben...

my home course allowed someone to drive last yr if u had yur g1, but its under new managent (the township) and they changed it to g2 + credit card. i guess u may have to wait another yrr(N)
