So I've heard it being advertised over the past little while... check it out.

I think for $1500/team it's a pretty good deal, especially if you can get a team together to contend! I imagine there will definately be some stiff competition though!
Is anyone here going to sign up?

Good Prizes but $1500 is still a lot of cash for a 27 hole event. The other thing that bothers me is that you play off of 50% of your handicap.
A 2 plays as a 1 - no big deal for them
A 20 plays as a 10 - that's a big deal.
When tournaments start having people play a percentage of their handicap then the event is skewed in favour of the low handicap player. It would seem to me that they do that to penalize the "sandbaggers" but then that's the problem with handicapped events.
I love tournaments with great prize tables. They're rare these days. Havng run a very successful 2 man event I know it's a real problem addressing the handicap issue.

Give winners trophies, they certainly don't need prizes. Make the prize table a draw or something more chance, except for for closest to the pin and few others.... I think longest drive is bogus, can you imagine being told to pay $5 for a chance to win a great prize with 150 other people and oh by the way 140 of you have absolutely no chance to win, but have funded those other 10. I have been to enough tournaments to know that those who win, usually comprise a very small minority of those with a attending and basically are playing walking away with all the loot. Watch how quick their smiles disappear if they are handed a trophy instead of a prize.......
As far as I'm concerned, those who are the best golfers have way too much time on their hands and need no further prizes.
Yes I am bitter......;)

If you pony up the $1500, I guarantee to bring my A short game along for the ride. :D
South Course at Bond Head is a nice track, but $750/player is freakin' stoopid....more money than brains players will be attending this event.
Can't wait 'till CL snatches this course up, only a matter of time!

They are running commercials on the Fan non-stop (background noise).
Sure it sounds like a decent event, with golf, gambling, accomodation....
But how does anyone justify spending $1,500 unless they are a competitive golfer/sandbagger;)?
Again the question, would the response be better if the Prizes were random (i.e. inclusionary), with trophies for winners, or is it the competitive golfer thinking they'll walk away with prizes the big drawing card?

Why would one pony up $1500 if prizes were random and there was no visible charity. To me, this tournament is straight up, big bucks, big prizes... it's very enticing to say the least.
