I have heard of the Tyson Tour. It was actually started years ago by the PRO at Thames Valley in London. I know this as I live just south of London. Used to live near Watford, you are from Sarnia you will know where that is.

Young friends of mine competed in that tour a few years ago. It is a good Junior Tour and well run.

Enjoy it and have fun.

The big city of Watford! Alvinston is a suburb of Watford   I grew up outside of Watford on a farm. Did not go to school in Watford though. Petrolia was where I went to highschool.

Which course do you play out of in Sarnia? I actually have only played one course down there, St Clair Parkway. Nice course, huge greens!

What courses have you played on the Tyson Tour this year?

Heard of the Tyson Tour???? You bet. I played on the Tour in its first year, in 1968 at the age of 15 and for the next 3 years. My son and his friends played the Tour during his junior days. Back in 1968 there were four events; East Park, Strathroy, Thames Valley and Fanshawe. In 2006, there were 16 tournaments in and around the London area, with stops in Sarnia, Chatham, Stratford, St. Thomas and Woodstock. There were about 500 registered Juniors, Juveniles, Bantams and Girls, who played in 2006. And, you being from Sarnia, should know who is one of Tour's most famous alumni, 1987 and 1988 Champion, Mike Weir. Mike met his caddie and best friend, Brennan Little from St. Thomas on the Tyson Tour.

So the Tour holds a lot of special moments and memories in my golfing life. I met and still have many friends who played the Tour. Good luck with your Junior career.
