I'm looking for some drills to help me shorten my swing. I've recently saw myself on tape and I can't believe how long my swing looks.....can we show video on this forum?

Thanks :help:

Thanks :help: Two causes of a swing that is too long are a left arm that bends too much at the top and a left wrist(for righties) that "cups" instead of staying flat. The flat left wrist is one of the three essentials of a good golf swing.

Start from a PRESET position, where the left arm is straight and the left wrist is flat. (Take a look at the enclosed pictures) From there just go to the top of the backswing. You may feel that you just turn your shoulders or perhaps you just extend the arms/hands back, but maintaining that flat left wrist will automatically shorten your swing.

Take easy, slow motion swings at first before increasing the speed. When doing this you also may want to feel that your backswing is finished when your left shoulder just touches your chin.

Excuse the clothes as I took a break from cutting the grass and my hands are farther from my body because I use a single axis swing, however, the principle is the same. BTW: I actually play the game from this position and have for 7 years.
