woah, congrats to Annika! 5th straight tour victory...like the reporters say, in any other sport, people may argue over who the best player is, but when it comes to womens golf, there is no doubt who the best LPGA player is...8 strokes from the second best player at the Kraft Nabisco...just sickening!

YAY!!!!!
I watched both saturday and sunday.......soooo great!!!! Annika is nut-o!
woo hoo!! 1 down, 3 to go till soren-SLAM!
what amazed me the most is that she had an 8 shot lead going into the final par 5 hole, and she's still playing aggressive by going for it in 2....most players would rather be safe and lay up....
too bad she didn't make the birdie putt :(

i was watching over the weekend on TV, and the commentators pointed out an interesting thing...
Since the men's $ purse for each tourney is soooo much more than the women's $ purse...its pretty amazing how if you take Annika's career earnings (just over 16million) and compare it with the guy's career earnings list...she would be placed 16th!! and pretty close to being 15th...
that's nut-o! but still far away from tigers earnings

I played a few events on the Great Lakes tour the last two seasons which is supposed to be for pros. I registered as an amatuer and played. I quickly learned that I wasn't going to finish in the money any time soon as winners were posting some incredible numbers.
One winner at Willow Valley posted -8 in a one day tournament. I'd be willing to bet the top five from that event would have beat Annika that day.

Just read an article on Annika and she sounds amazing. It's too bad that she isn't as recognized for her achievements as a male athlete who's accomplished as much as she has.
Sorry if I'm repeating anything already written, but here's some stats I found in the article
- won 59 LPGA events in 11 years
- won 41 of her last 109 events
- 4th place on LPGA all-time list
- won the last 5 tournaments in a row
- won the last 7 of 9 tournaments
- only woman to have shot 59 in competition on the LPGA Tour
So if the LPGA is held and broadcast live on different days than the PGA, it'll improve viewership for golf, give more recognition to women's sport, increase the fans base for Annika and really propel the sport of golf for women just like how it happened with Tiger and the general public. :)

I'll agree with that, air the LPGA on Monday to Wed and watch their numbers climb.
Don't air the ladies first major opposite the Players. That was a mistake.

hehehe..of couse i'm gonna watch sorenstam winning her 5th straight!
besides..i don't really have a fav player in pga that i would go nut-o for......
and sometimes i find lpga more interesting..and more intense to watch..
i mean come on, like last week..
when annika won the safeway classic in the playoff hole.....even being 4 behind with 3 to play...
and u see lorena choke by going double bogie and bogie....and annika birdie the last hole to tie it...
maybe i havn't been watching enough pga...but i never seen that much excitement before in golf!
but last year's pga US open (i think) is pretty close to this excitement tho....with phil choking on the 3 footer...twice

i have to agree with you sometimes.
not this weekend. it came down to the wire for fred funk with a couple of people with chances (not much of one tho) to catch him on the last hole. there were about 7 people who could have won this tourney on the last day.
congrats to fred..

Annika is amazing to start out with but recently she's been completely dominating. She is the best player in the LPGA right now and I don't think anyone can touch her for a long time. She's the Michael Jordan of the LPGA. I don't think Tiger in 2000 was even doing what Annika is doing now. 5 straight tournaments? DANG!!
