Traditionally on the week of the Masters, there is the par 3 challenge and the pro/am. Does anyone know of any other fun things that are different from any other tournament? I read in Golf Digest that during the wed practise round on the 16th par 3 over water. The crowd urges the players to "skip" the ball to the green on the other side of the pond. (think about skipping stones) Almost everyone tries it and apparently its a blast with the crowd and the players. Phil one year skulled his shot and he missiled it into the crowd sitting behind the green. Luckly nobody was hurt!

Focker,
I suggest you read David Owens book on Augusta. It is very good. It gives the history of the club as well as the tournament. Their are many traditions.
Enjoy!

I think I've seen the Pros have their children as caddies and let them hit a few shots. I wish I could there every day of that week. There is also the Champion's Dinner where last year's winner host a dinner, the year Tiger won, Fuzzy Zoeller got himself into a little trouble :)

Weir had a good menu and I heard Phil is serving ravioli... BTW, a lil off topic but did anyone see VJ hit left handed on the 17th during the pro/am and stick it 16ft from the pin??? Lots of the PGA guys can hit from both sides and well too! What talent!!

Mike Weir can sometimes break 90 from the right side. Vijay's low score from the left is a 71. That's incredible. Just goes to show you how good they are.

On Monday, John Daly skipped a ball across the water on the 16th hole and the ball went in the hole!!!! Odds to get a hole in 1 are already crazy but to skip the ball on water and get a hole in 1?? UNBELIEVEABLE!!! It was the loudest cheer on a Monday at Augusta.

Yes, JD got an ace on the 16th hole on Monday, but no he did not skip the ball on the water to get it. He did it the old-fashioned way - hit a 9-iron past the flag and spun it back into the cup.
