ANOTHER TGN/CL event - Sept 23 @12:30 Cherry Downs

Cause I like you guys, we're doing ANOTHER TGN/CL event! :D wow..two events back to back weeks.. (Highland Gate on the 17th)

We're booked for Saturday, September 23 @12:30 at Cherry Downs. Five tee times have been booked. Green fees are $62.50+GST. Power carts are extra but there is a free range and pull carts to use. Pay at the clubhouse when you get there (cash/debit/visa/mastercard).

racmb's I'd definitely be up for something like that. I'm very much looking forward to Saturday as this will be my first TGN event. I've never been able to make it to any of the previous events unfortunately and I'm hoping to make this the first of many!

I played this course yesterday for the company scramble. You are in for a wild ride.

Here was some of the closing action on the 18th: (We were first off the blocks). Front pin placement about 10 feet in. We were 125 yards in. My shot started in the right fringe and rolled of the left front side (about 20 yards). It took about 2 minutes to get there trickling like a pebble in a little brook. The shot we used was above the hole about 8 feet away with 6 feet of break. Our second guy was able to die it about 2 feet below the hole which we made for par. All of the rest of my team rolled 2-4 feet into the fringe off the front.

We grabbed a beer and watched some the other groups finish. Is it unsportsmanlike to laugh Guinness through your nose as others are putting? 3 bogeys, 1 par one birdie. The birdie group had a 3 foot downhiller with about 10 inches of break. The first three guys rolled it off the front.

Have fun. A bit of advice: Sometimes it is better to be chipping uphill from the rough 15 feet from the cup than putting 6 feet downhill or side hill.

SIDE note: THANKS AGAIN to everyone who showed up at one of the CL invites throughout the season. It has been a very fun experience co-hosting these events (do not forget to thank Pir2, RC*Q and Mrs Focal + any other CL member who helped support the events throughout the season). I have really been grateful to have met with so many great guys and gals who are true golf nuts in 2006. I'm sure many will become life long playing partners in future rounds.

All the best in these remaining month(s) of the season and for a safe and happy "shopping season". Cannot wait to see the new toys in 2007.
