I heard this on the GG 19th Hole and decided to google it.

Michelle Wie has a new caddie, at least for the next month. Golfweek magazine reported that Wie has hired Andrew Lano for the Omega European Masters on Sept. 7-10 in Switzerland, followed by the 84 Lumber Classic on the PGA Tour. Lano has spent most of his career working for Kenny Perry.

Was wondering who she would have as her new caddie since letting her previous one go. Thanks for the post.

Hi Ben Hogans

Mr. Lano will remain in his new role until her
next 'one ugly' shot into the 17 or 18 green.

Anyone who caddies for Michelle WieŽ Inc. has about the same job security as a Baghdad valet parking attendant.

Here's more details re the change.

I'm not a Wie fan, and don't look forward to years of her whining (I don't mean winning).

There was that 14 year old from Hawaii who just won the U.S. women's amateur over 900 contestants, including top ranked college and international players. She is about 5 feet tall (at least now) and hits close to 300, has the shots, and has the nerves and tenacity to come through in the clutch. She comes across as humble and unassuming. I wonder if she will be the best young golfer from Hawaii.

Hi rotator

Sensational jouralism when they said "Michelle Wie had her longtime caddie, Greg Johnson, fired (http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/columns/story?columnist=sirak_ron&id=2543475)." I guess when you are 16 then longtime might be 10 months. Now Juli Inkster could say longtime since he looped for her for 11 years.

Who is that 14-year old girl from Hawaii? Do you have a URL link.

Wonder why a lot of people hit it long in Hawaii, is the ground real hard? People there hit it 300 yards and come to the mainland and hit it shorter on average.

Hi TourIQ,

Actually, she was hitting the ball that far at the U.S. Amateur, and irons to match. Big swing, like that "Peanut" Myun Hyun Kim (sp?) on LPGA, but longer. The loser Shallenberg is a very good golfer, and also has the toughness, so we might see her succeed on the LPGA. I think Wie does not have the nerves, and whines about everything, in that irritating tone.

I like to tape shows, including TGC, and replay them later, so I could flip through and eliminate the commercials. I watched all rounds of this tournament, and it was interesting to see the different swings and how they reacted. The course, as you know, has a history, including Lopez just losing the Women's U.S Open, and Tiger winning one of his Am's over Steve Scott?.

Here's an URL, I'm sure there are others if you google Kimberly Kim.
