Watching the Golf Channel interview with Vijay.....his long term caddie "fired him"! I wonder why? Too many hours on the range putting balls down for the big guy to hit? For this week he is using a friend to caddy for him.....I pity the guy that picks up the bag for all the hours he will put in......but not for the pay check!:D

Wow, his caddie quit? Thats surprising unless they had a fallout or something. I dont care how much VJ practices, to make 10% of his paycheck I would do it even if it means hours on the range :D

Is this something new?
I kind of remember Vijay's caddie quitting a year ago or so. Is it the same story or is this a new story?
I must admit Vijay is my favourite player. In a sense, his achievements are more impressive than Tiger's when you consider where he is coming from and how he made it to the top.
Vijay has probably more respect from fellow players than Tiger and Phil (who probably has none). He is one of the few top players who give younger players advice on the practice range.

I heard it on TGC last night when they were asking him about his less than steller play as of late.....Vijay replied that his driving was hurting him a bit, but he feels as though its "almost there"......then while showing Big Vij on the range, the went on to say that Vijay informed The Golf Channel that his caddie fired him very recently and that he is using one of his friends from Florida to tote the bag around. They then showed his buddy carrying the bag........
It seems weird but I cant find anything on the net about it......everything is about Tiger. Go figure.

You couldn't pay me enough to caddie for a crack-head like VJ.
Might as well sign away your personal like when caddying for him, you'd never get to see your family!
The guys on a quest to be the #1 golfer in the world again and REALITY check VJ, it isn't going to happen twice.
Save it for the Champions Tour.

Here's a blog that eventually links into an actual publication about the whole thing...

I never really did like Vijay, as I think he follows the same boat as Phil in the sense that he puts on a smile for a lot of the media.
Although I'm sure he's a bit more pleasurable with the fans than Phil.

From what I read and heard:
VJ is well-liked by his peers. He throws an annual party before The Players and liberally gave out tips to help young professionals. He is a bit reserved towards the media because he had some unpleasant situations with them before.
Phil is not as well-liked by his peers because he does not mix with them off the course or in the locker room. He is good to the TV media but could care less about print media. He is also good to his young fans.
