A great talent over the pond, but DOES NOT KNOW how to win on USA soil [PGA events or 3 of the 4 Majors]. He came so close at the US Open then killing ALL chances at the 72nd hole. I'm sure he would love to have that hole over again.

Uh, I dont hate Paul Casey...to be honest, he is one of my favs. (We are Canadians:p )
Monty, Monty, Monty...........geezzzzz, that guy take 7 European Order of Merits.....and has won over here.....what the hell? At first, his Rabbit Ears got to him big time...getting into arguments with the fans, etc etc....
Now that the fans have sort of warmed up to him....and him to the fans...its anybodies guess. Perhaps he tries to hard coming down the stretch? You would think he would know how to win by now with the trophies in his case.....but its a bit different. Over in Europe, they dont get the "Tiger effect", which I think does bother Monty a bit. Perhaps.

Yes i think thats spot on 'the tiger effect' really does enoth for monty, but to be honest i dont think it got to him, at the us. open the pressure was on to hit the green and make par, but he said 'when the pressures on i hit about 1 club farther than normaly' , but he fatted it and came short and right and made double. I think he has been unlucky in the others, but he just got it wrong.
I watched all 4 days thinking its our turn, its are montys turn, it was sooo intence for me. I was discusted at phils bad shots and amazing luck, as he hit that marque at 18, i thought omg he is going to win after all that!!
but as monty lost when he had it in his grasp. It almost made me cry!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: only to end up in a aussie's hands!!! you know what brits and 'the convicts' relations are!! (na we love each other really exept cricket!!)
But last week as paul casy started making stupid bogies, i just walkeed away
'THE TIGER FACTOR'
Hay for greg Owen the Pampling effect was too much!!!!

No hate for Paul Casey here, or, I suspect, anywhere you find reasonable people. His comments made good sense, in context.
Monty's one of many golfers of many ethnic backgrounds who has won a lot but still has no major. Life goes on. There is no "deserve" in golf.
For a while there I thought David Howell was on his way to greater success, but he's fallen back a bit recently. Same with P. Harrington (who I seriously doubt thinks of himself as a Brit  ).

Monty, let me see, 7-8 Order of Merits (#1 on Euro Money List)
Ryder Cup Stalwart.
Win a Major or not he has been one of the best out of the UK for years.
PS, Who currently holds the RYDER CUP? For those who think the Euros are a wee weak when it comes to golf :D

Unfortunately what you see here is the product of the English youth's fascination with text messaging. It's one of the reasons I left there a few years ago. My sister teaches near Birmingham (in central England) and she despairs of the way they use this and the low levels of literacy in general. As a Brit, I'm embarrassed.

If it's any consolation, Canada and the U.S. are no better.
For what it's worth (not much), this process of decadence was going on long before text messaging, email, or even the Internet.
There were always bad spellers, but good spelling is barely a value any more; and those who do spell well are considered anal, nerdy, or victims of ADD.

Thank goodness, too. He is an arrogant man (and it works for him - I am a big Monty fan, and an ex Scottish resident) but that sort of arrogance in an Englishman would be intolerable!!
Paul Casey? Hated? I don't think so. Only a few redneck Americans still have it in for him. Everyone else realises we are lucky to have freedom of speech and need to work all the harder these days to keep that freedom'
