I went monday at 730, didnt see a single player hit a shot but I believe I saw the wedge man himself. Big B, the Vokey man.
I didnt snag any clubs but I did steal the 15th hole.

What a field!
I havent been this excited since I went to see the Wiggles Live on Stage,
and it wasnt even ther real guy in the red shirt!
Captain Feathersword dropped out at the last minute too.
I hope they players arent too distracted by the sound of crickets coming from the rough.

I went for the tuesday practice round and found Mr. Ames on the range. I ended up following him for his full practice round. He was playing great, only missed one fairway and his iron shots were great aswell. Awesome guy to watch play, always joking with the other players and crowd and his brother was a great guy too.
I saw big Bubba Watson demolish a ball on the second hole ... he was a good 30 yards infont of the bunker guarding the fairway on the right (290 to the front of the bunker i think)
VJ was playing today, i just saw VJ around the greens because I was getting tired of walking. That is one hilly course!!! BTW VJ is amazing with a wedge in his hands! I got money on VJ so i hope he does well :)
This was a great day and I will go back!

you seem a little shut at the top, consider a litttle less flex in your right leg, stop holding your breath, loosen your glove, and consider velcro shoes to help your stance.
Oh, and flare your right toe 1/2 an inch out!!

Man what a great day
Followed Mike for most of his round before rain delay, he was non stop working with Mike Wilson
Watched Mike take out a homemade sandwich from his golf bag, where the hell does Mike Weir get a homemade sandwich in Hamilton (it was in a zip lock bag)
Saw Stephen Ames let a volunteer use his club to try a duplicate a shot he just hit. When the guy missed the shot he said "hey I didn't hit it like that"
Watched Brant Jobe help all his playing partners with their putts (nice)
Witnessed Furyk get frustrated with the rough.
After the rain delay went to 18 and waited for Weir, when his team came up the fairway his palyers had been replaced by theirs caddies. Their caddies where a bunch of kids. One of the kids named Matt (something) from Dundas was about 30 yards from the green in the left hand bunker. The kid walks up and hits the shot about 20 feet past the pin and spins it back to about 15 feet. The crowd went nuts and alot of people got the kids autograph.4554
Ran into my buddy from IST Simulators in the Bell media tent if you go this week drop into see them they are running a closest to the pin contest. Ask for Tim tell him Deke sent you.
The course looks great and the rough is deep

I also heard that mike baught thouse kids a set of clubs each in the pro shop after the round. Now that's a real class act.
It sure was a great day. I got about three quarters of the feld to sign my Canadian Open Flag. I can't wait to get the puppy in a frame.
I am going back tomorrow to see some great rounds "I hope"

I am going on Sat. and have a parking pass at Lot 'C'.
Any tips as to how to find this lot after getting off the highway exit?

as soon as you get off the highway at Wilson St, take a left and it should be the first right, follow the signs that are posted :)

That thread was locked, I heard various stories from members of the club but found the truth from the original poster.
There is a Mike Weir feel-good story going around somewhere on here.

Here's my report:
Went on Saturday, Lot 'C' was closed due to rain/wetness. We were directed to a place 13 KM away. Instead of going to the replacement lot, we ended up parking at someone's front lawn for $10 and 10 minutes walk from the golf course entrance. It was the best $10 I spent that day.
Security was lax, no metal detector and when we walked in, they simply asked 'did you bring any electronics?' to which we answered 'no' and was let in. I wish I brought a whole arsenal of electronics to record everything.
I got these $300 Champion Pass through work. Turned out that the ticket only entitled us to go into the tent of the same name by the 18 fairway, but I had to pay for drink and food. $3.50 for a bottle of water, while there were kids outside selling them for $1. In comparison, when I was at the Masters, alcohol was $2 and water/soda was $1, while sandwiches were $1-$2. While at the CDN Open, there were a lot of food to choose from depending on how much you want to spend and what passes you have, the Masters had no class system, everywhere on the course, they sell the same thing.
I saw a player's wife with the biggest diamond ring on her finger. How do you spot players' wives? They are mostly very attractive, well dressed, and typically walk by themselves. They follow their husbands but keep a distance during the round.
There were not as many spectators on Saturday as I saw on TV Sunday (which is the reason why I wanted to go on Saturday). on hole #15 and #16, because they were realtively far from all the other holes, you could have gotten pretty close to the players on 15th's green and 16th's tee box.
I finally realized that watching the pros put is the most boring part in a golf tournament. They take the longest to line up from a seemingly gimme distance. It is nothing like a 300+ yeards drive or a chip in. But somehow, people always seemed to enjoyed sitting around the greens watching players take an inordinate amount of time to make a 'gimmie'.
I think I saw Tiger's coach Hank Haney doing on-course commentary for ESPN. But can somebody confirm that?

Yes, just before CTV did the winning interview you could see Haney interviewing Furyk in the background for ESPN. I went home and watched the last two hours Sat and Sun on TV.
Pretty well organized but they did screw up on that one parking lot. Luckily I live within a five minute walk but I did hear how that cost some people an hour of viewing time.
In general, food availability was very scarce on the course and very pricey.

I went to the Open sunday got there right at the start and stayed till the end. I watched some amazing shots on the par 3 6th but hole 13 the par 3 which is 236 yards and on sunday had the wind in your face i saw Furyk hit and amazing shot about 10 ft and then his partner Quigley comes up hits it about 3 ft. I thought i was unbelivable because everyone coming before them like Jobe, parnevik, calcavechia all hit there hybirds short and no one was making the green, then furyk and quigley come along and make it look easy. Also watching them hit thier drives off the elevated tee off hole 17 was something to see. Everyone of them was cranking there drives way over 300 and what a view that hole had. I had a great time and Hamilton golf and country club is a beautiful, tough, amazing golf course. I think it should be ahead of st georges and the NGOC and it should be ranked #1.
