On TGC last night:
1) In the post-round interview on Monday, Tiger mentioned that he would get into the golf course design very soon.
2) Wie said that she would like to play on the Ryder Cup one day.
Two comments that will generate a lot of talks and heated discussions, I can imagine.

stir that pot!
good for her!
Just two things are needed:
1. Be an American or European (Aussies, Canadians, Fijians etc. need not apply) check!:thumbs_up
2. Choose one option: A. collect enough Ryder Cup points or B. be a Captain's pick
(Option "B" seems to be her only chance unless she competes full-time on the men's tour and does so successfully to grab points)

She's spending too much time talking to Sergio about unobtainable goals. I'm sure there are a few TGNers that have a better chance making the Ryder cup before she is even considered. Let's put some duck tape on her mouth unti she starts winning !!

1: Would love to see him get involved in course design, just to see how he sees a course through his own eyes through design. (holy, confusing babble :D )
2: No woman will EVER play on the Ryder Cup, she needs a good cup of reality check. What next, men start playing on the Solheim?

I think she needs a filter between her brain and her mouth. Perhaps she is trying to generate buzz since she is playing in the European this week. After all, her agent are used to handle entertainment celebrities where any publicity is good publicity.

When is Michelle Wie ever going to get the message that she has to do SOMETHING on her own tour before she should even accommodate a thought about playing with the men, let alone playing the US or British Opens, Masters or now the Ryder Cup! What next? Is she going to start talking about one day being US President or First woman on the moon? Maybe Mrs God?
Get real, Wie. Start walking, THEN start running!
What a joke she has become. Such a shame because she is otherwise such a mature and level-headed woman and, clearly, has a lovely swing.
As for Tiger designing course. If he is 1/10th as good as that as he is at playing, bring it on.

For example, I think MW has a better chance at being Mrs. Ryder Cup Captain than I do.:D

Very good point, if the American team keep losing the Ryder Cup, the public will lose interest and eventually no self-respecting players will play for this event. It will lead to the PGA having to resort to gimmicks like making Ms. Wie the captain's pick?
See the American Cup race. Don't know what it is? you can simply google it.

If she can't beat the top 20 American male golfers in the world now (and never), which future captain will ever step up and pick her? He will be lambasted in the media forever, win or lose.
Also, American pride in sports will not allow the U.S. to continue this losing streak for too long (see U.S. Basketball). Although the U.S. will get hammered again this year.

With all due respect to the American 'pride', just because they will not allow it, it does not mean they will be able to do anything to reverse the outcome.
Last I checked, US Basketball is still not winning any tournament. Not a good example, perhaps?

U.S. B-Ball - they didn't leave empty handed. They made strides, Coach K and players who wanted to win!! New attitude to the TEAM game vs the ME, ME, ME attitude. Which is a similar problem to the U.S. Ryder cup. I think the example fits although their results aren't exactly what they wanted.
