With the weather changing by the week and winter coming, many of us are trying to squeeze in a extra round or two before we call it a season. Describe your own "shot of the day" here. It could be a putt to win a big carry on a Skins match. Could be your birdie to wina company tournament, a long drive or a great approach onto the green. Just about anything. Its YOUR shot of the day!

Just played today and I have 2 shots I liked. First one was 152 yrds to the green. I had just hit a tree branch and landed in the rough beside some short bushes. It was a front pin placement today and I nearly holed my shot. Just slid by the hole according to my partner whom was already close to the green. My second shot was not as exciting but for me it was good cause I usually suck in greenside bunkers. Had lots of green to work with and just took a nice easy swing and landed it 3 feet from the hole. Made my sand save to keep my score respectable.

Mine was not really a grandeur shot, but it made me pretty proud of myself......it was at Wolf Run..385 yrd par 4.....fairway was wide, but if you didn't aim your shot to the very left side, you would have a very difficult 2nd shot coming up.....green was protected by water in front of the left hand side of the green and tall pine trees in front of the right hand side of the green.....quite a nice hole to be honest with you.....
1st shot, took a 3-iron got it in the right hand side of the fairway...I was about 145-150 out...took me about 3-4 mins to survey a target I could pick to aim at when looking from the left side of the fairway, because I could not see the flag behind the trees...once I picked a target, I took my 7-iron, hit it a tad right, but the ball started drawing back and landed on the green about 18 ft from the flag....

Sounds like you played that hole perfectly! Its always a satisfying feeling when you play a hole exactly the way you wanted to. Good course management.

Played Tangle Creek on the weekend and loved it. I think my shot of the day would be the par 4, 9th. My second shot I was left with about 152 yrds to an uphill, elevated green into the wind. It was a back pin placement that day and I knew I needed to get the ball deep cause the green sloped back to front with an upper tier and a lower tier. I hit my 6 iron to about 8 ft under the hole but missed my birdie putt. Will take par anyday!

I hit a very similar shot to this from about 175 out (driver distance is problem for me this year), in rough on the left last time I played this hole (Number 16, if I recall correctly). The flag was way at the back, so you still couldn't see it from where I was. Missed the birdie putt, but a good par (for me anyways) nonetheless. I like that hole.

Describe your own "shot of the day" here. Its YOUR shot of the day!Playing our league tonight at Trillium. Par 4 13th. Tee shot to 50 yards, lob wedge in the hole. Thanks very much. Broke the back of the guy I was playing with. Took the next whole to finish the match. Until we had both won one and split the rest (started on 15).

I got the damn hair, dude. It doesn't help my game either.
I get my shots at home. I prefer not to drink on the links at all. If I do, the game is gone. Shhhh ....there may be a round a year where I'll let that happen, just don't tell anyone.
BTW, I can't afford cognac AND breast implants for my headcover.

Played St. Andrew's Valley over the weekend and had a pretty brutal round. I'm normally a high 80s to low 90s golfer but I shot 97 that day. Man, that course has some tough greens. I must have 3 putted 10 holes.
But the highlight of the day, possibly of my putting life, was a birdie putt on the par 5 14th. I was 3-on putting from the back of the green. I had a double breaker from about 45 feet that went up a ridge and then back down. Got a good read from a buddy putting before me who blew his putt 12 feet past the hole.
I just wanted to get the ball close so I knew I had to get it just up the ridge and let gravity do its thing. After my stroke, I was yelling for the ball to make it past the ridge or else I'd be left with another long range downhill putt. It literally almost came to a full stop at the top of the ridge but then started coming back down on the perfect line like I visualized it and plopped in center of the cup. I felt like tiger at the 16th at Augusta! haha
Golf is such a fickle sport. You can have a miserable day but that ONE shot that made your day will be continually replayed in your mind for the rest of the week. All it took was a good putt to make me forget all the fairways missed, the three putts, and the lost balls in the middle of the lake. I'll be back out there on Thursday! hehe...

Even better I called this shot.
WHISPERING RIDGE
11th Hole
65 yards to the green, 30 yards left of the fairway
and there is a 100 foot tall tree on the left side of the green.
I take 60* wedge, and announce that this shot is going to be really good, or really bad.
I hit the biggest flop of my life to 2 feet
over the tree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and then 2 putt
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrggh
thats golf!!:)
