I'm not a baseball fan anymore. Used to follow it really closely but not since the 94 strike and the fact that the Jays have sucked since too! Would like to see anyone win except for the Yankee's. I would like to see an underdog win. Astro's sound good. Maybe the Cards?

I have this crazy feeling that Minnesota will win the championship. They have the best pitcher in the game today in Johan Santana (who btw singlehandedly won me the baseball pool) and the best set-up man in Juan Rincon. Their defensive chemistry is #1 in baseball today (6 double plays against the Yanks yesterday).
I feel that this team is like the Calgary Flames of baseball. But this time they will win it.

I know there is no hockey this year. But I am just wishing that there was so that I don't have to talk about Baseball. haha lets be honest. Who went to a Jays game this season? And it doesn't count if you were given free tickets or won some tickets! Did anyone support our team?
actually if you give me free baseball tickets i wouldn't even go hehe...

Even though I am not a Baseball fan...I saw the 1st championship game on the TV at my gym while I was working out. The Yanks looked like the better team to me, Mussina and Matsui won the 1st one for them. Who saw game 2? I think I'm rooting for BoSox because they are the underdogs.

Bosox lost again, so they're now down 0-2. Bosox were actually favoured against the Yanks in the Vegas betting line....but with the loss of Schilling to injury in Game 1, I'd say they're in big trouble.

haha...i am not a baseball fan either but because of all the hype between the Sox and the Yanks I decided to watch...too bad Schilling sucked in the opener...Joe Torre (manager of the Yanks) made a huge move by putting in Leiber against Pedro and it worked out perfectly! Back to Boston now, down 2-0...I still think the Sox can pull even...hate those damn Yanks!
In the NLCS, I'm still sticking with the Cardinals. That lineup is unstoppable! From top to bottom.

Same here, I used to like watching baseball when the Jays ruled. Now they suck horribly, I don't even count them as one of our city teams right now. And damn that hockey lock out wth???

I saw that man! First pitch. I was hoping for the Cards to advance but there was a stat saying out of 9 of 11 series that were tied 2-2. The team that wins game 5 goes on to win the series.

He just pitched a great game...3-3 now, first team in history to ever comeback from down 3-0 and force game 7. The game was entertaining. Arod tried to cheat by swatting the ball out of the guys glove and was called out. Fans got a lil too rawdy and the riot police were called out to watch the fans. haha...New York New York!!!

the umpiring crew did an excellent job making calls, two calls they got together to converse and came out with the right call....Benhorn's HR and ARod swatting incident :nono: ...

Surprisingly, I'm actually interested in this years playoffs. I havn't for a while and actually make an effort to watch the games. There have been some very good and exciting games with lots of drama and comebacks from behind. Maybe the fact that there's no hockey to watch is the reason. Man...end the freaken lockout soon!!

very unlikely from what i heard in today's news, they said arena's are now booking events 45 days in advance vs. 30 days before...so if they do end lockout, they'd have to wait 45 days now...

Well Boston did it!!! They came back from a 3-0 deficit and won 4-3 in NY. Johnny Damon is the hero with 2HR's and 6RBI. Lowe pitches 6 shutout innings on 3 days rest. Now if only the Cardinals can win game 7. Should be a good World Series. I'm just happy to see the Yanks lose!

this is one thread i agree with Ego....Cards vs Bosox final is better...two lineups with huge offensive power...esp the Cards...
Edmonds, saved the game last night with his diving catch early in the game to save 2 runs, runner on 3rd with 1 out...instead...holds the runners and 2 outs...Pujols is the new Mr. October!!
From the beginning, I voted for the Cardinals...GO CARDS GO!!

So the Cardinals and the Red Sox are in the World Series! I was rooting for the Red Sox because I read somewhere that they were cursed and never made it to the World Series in over 30 years or something. Glad to see the curse is broken. haha maybe it had something to do with all of the players watching that movie Miracle. :p

It isn't over yet, 2-0 isn't that bad. Last time Boston was up 2-0 in the World Series we all know what happened right??? They eventually lost 4-3 to the Mets in the famous ground ball to Bill Buckner. The CURSE is still ON!! GO CARDS GO!!
