I don't mean to sound cheap, but I've only started golfing last year, and I was looking for courses that are more affordable so I can play more often. If any one can help me out I would really appreciate it. It's just that ranges are great, but it is completly different when playing on a course. Thanks.

I hear you...there are lots of courses in the GTA that charge way too much for the quality. Depending on your budget, I would say a cheaper course would be somewhere around the $40 range? Deer Creek South in Ajax is about there. If you're willing to drive up NE to Pines of Georgina in Pefferlaw, great course for $40. Most cheaper courses I know though are usually a little further away or they're shorter courses. Check the Course Review forum for some reviews. There is a thread about Gems around the city.

Here I hope this helps you; Cresthaven (15-20$), Hunters Glen (15-20$ for 9 hole & 25-40$ for 18 hole), Uplands (25-40$).

Thanks Monenzad. I've been to Cresthaven before. It is a beginner course for sure. Is it open for the season?
Never been to Uplands. Where is this course?

Uplands is on Yonge and Hwy 7 (south)... It is a beautiful and challenging 9-hole course... It has one of the famous PAR-3 hole...

Hunters Glen regular rates are a little more - the 18 hole course is $29/39/49 for the spring season M-T,W-F,S-S.
But until April 24, M-T is $1 a hole and W-F is $2 a hole.
Played yesterday afternoon. Long round (5 hours basically), a few provisional greens, etc. But definately can't complain for $18. I don't think i'd pay the regular summer weekend rate of $56 or whatever it is, but it's a decent course if you can play for cheap.

Oh I didn't realize it was so close to Yonge! I'll be sure to look for it next time I drive by.

Even though it's only a nine. I would recommend carting this course and not walking it. So many elavation changes, it's exhausting but a fun nine...

what days/times are you looking to play? are you looking for executive courses or regular courses?
