Does anyone else have an addiction to the deals on Ebay. :help:

I just purchased 72 Maxfli Noodles for $66 CND with shipping.

I am also waiting for 24 Pro V1x's that I paid $32 CND for with shipping.

I think I have enough balls to last me the season.

There are great deals on there.

AAA Quality used, or as some ebayers say, slightly new.

Hopefully their not going to charge you duty on those balls.

The taxman can kill a good deal on ebay but I hope he's a sleep at the wheel when your balls cross the border.

Yes, I am addicted to Ebay (that's why I have 7 drivers - so far). If you are not sure whether you also have this disease, here are the top 10 signs that you are addicted to Ebay:

10) You won't go to estate auctions because they don't take PayPal.

9) Every time you go to the grocery store, you offer the cashier one cent more for each item in the cart of the person in front of you.

8) To cut costs, FedEx and UPS are considering relocating their operations centers to your house.

7) You never go to the shopping mall without your personalized "Items I'm Watching" post-it notes.

6) Your spouse is loving and caring but you decided to file for divorce because you need the storage space.

5) You're the reason Ebay adopted the "No selling your children's vital organs" policy.

4) You find yourself searching eBay auctions for milk, eggs and bread.

3) When your wife agrees to have sex with you, you become suspicious and ask how many other bidders there were.

2) Just ask your kids, eRay and eFaye.

and the Number 1 Sign You're Addicted to eBay...

1) After a particularly passionate night, you lean over and whisper in your spouse's ear, "Excellent service, great communication! Would recommend again! AAAA++++"

I'm curious about the duty + taxes issue too. Do you buy from CDN sellers, not care, or get lucky avoiding?

I'm curious about the duty + taxes issue too. Do you buy from CDN sellers, not care, or get lucky avoiding?I look to buy from Cnd sellers simply for the fact of avoiding duties.

I am presently watching 7 dozen Mint Pro V1x's from Victoria. If you "Buy it Now" you end up paying $30 a dozen for them, or about $2.50 a ball. That is a heck of a deal when you think we pay $6-$7 a ball new.

I figure a loss factor of 1 ball per dozen you will pay $2.45 per ball versus $2.25 per ball. That works for me.

I'm curious about the duty + taxes issue too. Do you buy from CDN sellers, not care, or get lucky avoiding? You will not have to pay duty on golf clubs or golf balls. You will almost ALWAYS have to pay a brokerage fee and GST/PST on anything over $20 being imported from the US.

If you specify shipping by the US Post Office then the brokerage fee is only $5. If you let them ship by UPS Standard/FedEx Ground you will be charged an obscene brokerage fee that can be more than what you paid for the item. If the seller insists on courier and you really want the item, then you are almost always better off paying extra for Express service where the brokerage fee is included in the price.

El Tigre, Please tell me more about this getting screwed at the border bite with brokerage fees. I have all those Noodles on the way form Florida. They way bill has a $0 COD marked on it. What should I expect to get hit with on $60 in golf balls.

No matter what, they will convert the amount paid to CDN$ and you will have to pay GST/PST on that amount when the package arrives - probably around C$11. If Canada Post delivers then the brokerage fee is $5. If UPS or FedEx delivers then the brokerage fee will probaby be around $20 (UPS will collect at the door, while FedEx will bill you later). If you paid extra for Express shipping, there is no brokerage fee.

If you had bought the 3 dozen Noodles I had for sale on the forum about a month ago (now sold on Ebay), you'd have paid zip!:D

If you want to avoid the duty and brokage fees. Get the goods shipped to a UPS depot in Buffalo and pick up the stuff yourself.

If you claim the goods on the way back into Canada, they'll charge you 15% tax.

Big savings but time cannot be an issue.
Good Luck
