Interesting concept...limited field of 32 that gets cut to 16 after 2 rounds, 8 after the 3rd round, and everyone starts the final day level and the winner gets $1 million. Should make for a good final day shootout, but makes you feel for those who put in really good rounds for 3 days to have a lot of people even with you....

I was very diappointed with today's NBC coverage. I turned on the TV expecting to see some drama and was not pleased at the point where they started their broadcast. I would have loved to watch this one from the beginning today.

Otherwise, I thought the format was a great idea.

Oh, Granada!
$1M pay-day!:eek::eek::eek:

makes Ochoa's 2nd place pay-cheque of $100K look like pocket change!

interesting format. certainly higher stakes. great for betting on long-shots! ... sorta like match-play.:)

So this back fired on LPGA:

- Annika missed the cut
- POY choked and dumped her shot on 17th into the water while she was only 1 shot back
- Some obscure (but extremely like-able - reminded me of the US women's amateur Champion) player from South America won. No market-ability there
- Pretty girls (Creamer and Gulbis) both couldn't perform when it was winner takes all - goes to show when the going get tough, the pretty goes missing
- Finchem must be laughing that LPGA be the guinea pig.

I had to take my son to hockey and taped it. I got home and was really looking forward to watching the final round. I TAPED THE WRONG CHANNEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just a bit p/o'd!

Here's another interesting fact:

LPGA selected their Rookie of the Year base on a point system. And Seon Hwa Lee was declared the winner about a few weeks ago.

But with Julietta's win, that vaulted her to 4th place on the year-end money list, she is arguably the ROY in the minds of a lot of people.

Some stats:
Money list: Granada - 4th; Lee - 12th
Victories: Granada - 1; Lee 1
Top 10: Granada - 7 ; Lee - 7

Interesting point. I am amused that they make their picks before all events are over. Also, the whole Hall of fame thing while a player is still active is another issue that throws me.

For J. Granada. I think it was a great win and good teamwork with her mom. Maybe I should get mine on bag next year....lol:rofl:
