I think this forum should be shared by all sexes in general. I don't think we should seperate each other into a seperate forum but rather come together as one. It's not like this golf forum is all about guys things anyways. There is no need to seperate because I don't see any kinds of discrimination or favouritism towards either sex.
Plus Golf is a sport for everyone young, old, female, male, shemale....everyone.

I'm all for a woman's discussion forum. But will we be discussing about golf? Somehow when you say woman's discussion forum I think of Entertainment tonight gossip on celebs and the latest fashion and beauty trends. haha jk :)

I picture the Woman's Discussion forum to generate conversations on the LPGA and the players there, techniques specific to woman and woman's perspective on the sport that ranges from fanatics to those who play because their significant other plays.
For those who are fanatics, I'd be interested to hear what they like about the sport, how they got into it, techniques that they find are helpful with their particular physique and their knowledge on the sport. Hopefully some would be fanatic about the LPGA. I think I can learn a lot about the sport from female fanatics too and they might bring a different dimension to the sport.
For those who play because their significant others play, I'd like to hear them ***** about the sport ;) . Or maybe they're on this forum because they want to learn about the sport to share in their significant other's passion.
I also know golf is a big sport at work. Men know how to 'schmooze' on the course, but I also know some female managers at my work have done the same. I'd like to hear how woman have used the sport to further their business or career.
I won't be surprised if some topics are unrelated to golf, but it'd probably be there because a member just wanted to hear a female perspective on another topic. I don't think it would be a big deal when that might happen, the forum is still useful in that sense.
I think guys who are fanatics can probably get female perspectives for when their wifey decides to throw him out on the couch because he spent the whole summer and most of their joint account on golf... or less extreme, how to get their gfs interested in the sport so they can spend time together doing something they can both enjoy, or getting ideas for a Christmas or birthday present if their gf plays golf.
In any case, I can see a potential in this forum, for both genders when a female perspective is needed.:)

Hey Ems...sounds good. I think we can all use a woman's perspective on Golf among other topics. I agree that golf is one of the biggest sports right now generating excitement in the workplace. A lot of my coworkers (male and female) in sales/ marketing/ corporate positions use golf to conduct business and develop relationships with their contacts at other companies. I plan to do that for myself to further my career. But first, I'd have to improve my overall score. :)

i think that this site should have a women's discussion forum because where women go, men will follow.

so lets say this:
there was once a nightclub where men and women hung out...and a new club opened up conveniently next door where women gets line by pass and drinks for free...so all the women from the first nightclub go to the second night club, so then all the men follow and the first night club is empty.

hmmm u sure about that? Would you rather go to a football game with the guys or your girlfriend? I'm sure that doesn't apply all the time!

Or here's another spin to it. All the other golf sites would be empty :)

No way. Golf, while getting better, is still already segrated enough already.
I think a better idea would be to keep the forums a welcoming place for all kinds of people. Let's not alienate regardless of sex, creed, golfing ability, equipment used, or even if one uses a belly-putter :)
I'm new here, but I really like the vibe in here. Very accessible. I think it would be great for the site, if we can strive to keep it that way.

I would have to agree with malarky here. I believe this site does the right thing by having any gender, any ability, any ethnicity post...to try and create a women's forum may try and recognize the emergence of women's golf, but it may at the same time be detrimental by observing that the site recognizes it, yet promotes that there maybe was something deficient in women's golf in the first place......

I know what you guys mean by segregation, I wouldn't want that either. If there was a forum targeted to women's perspectives, it wouldn't be the only forum that women would post on or men would steer clear of... which is probably what most of you are afraid of?
Maybe this thread is treading a bit close to debates like affirmative action or women's rights. Let's take my work for example, the executive structure is heavily skewed towards male sr. executives, and low numbers of female sr. executives. To address this obvious gap, we have a group established just for women to network. Guys that I work with can't seem to understand why there should be one, at our level it seems to be equal... but the facts clearly say differently.
I think if we want to get more women into Golf, we need to recognize and address that there is a gender gap. For women like myself and QB, we're use to posting all over the place on this site, and I'm sure we'd continue to do so whether or not there is a women's forum. But for ladies just starting out, I can see how a forum just for women would be attractive, and I can see it being a starting point before they venture into the 'other' forums ;)
