Being new to the site, I am not sure if the following has been posted previously. I did do a search, and did not find any reference to it.
The site listed below sells all different weights for TM clubs with MWT.

I looked into these and would not recommend heavier weights than what TM offers. I don't think it is worth using non-oem weights, I have the the heaviest TM weight @ 14gms and it provided enough of a change in swingweight and ballflight that these need not be considered.
I suspect that many people that have too stiff a shaft end up finding the higher swing weight really makes their shaft feel more flexible and give a little more control with more feeling at the top of your swing. However with these high non OEM weights I beleive the reduced swing speed will have a negative affect on distance and do not trust these from damaging your threads.

While I agree that some people could in fact hamper their swing speed, I don't believe there is any harm in experimenting at the range.
I highly doubt that they would produce a weight for TM clubs, and not get the thread measurements correct. :dunno:

I am sure the aftermarket suppliers have no problem with producing the same thread size, however I could not find an aftermarket weight that utlizes the three part system Taylor Made's weight offers. Therefore after time I suspect that threads could be damaged by over tightening if replaced regularly.
The TM screws have significant technology built in and do not void your warranty:
"When the screw is tightened, the cylinder descends into the port until the cylinder is wedged within the port's walls, creating what is known as a 'press-fit' - equal pressure on all sides holds the weight securely in place. When the screw is loosened, the head of the screw pushes upward against the retaining ring, dislodging the truncated cylinder from its pressure fit and allowing the TLC Cartridge to slide freely from the port".

At the end of the day, it is still just a Driver Head with some screw weights inserted into it...that they sell for $500.00. Don't get me wrong, I have one in my bag, and after I had the shaft changed in it, I figured that Taylor Made would no longer warranty it anyway.
