Played the second round on the home course on Sunday. Hit a decent number of fairways and green in regulation, but putted like a two year old. Now the greens are not up to there best shape as they have not been cut yet. But still, holy cow I was bad. I walk off the front 9 with a 44.
Then I moved to the back nine. 1 putt the first green for bird. Hit the longest hole on the course on my second shot (thanks for that SMT JSUN) and two putt from a whole new postal code for bird. Par the next three. Birdie the next one (did I say thank for that SMT JSUN) and then par the last three.
Front 9 - 44
Back - 34
The three guys I'm playing with are asking me if I'm related to Chris Dimarco. Fall apart early Sunday, only to come back and make a match out it. Did you ever have one of those days or get it in reverse order. Tell us you horror story.

I shot 32 on the front nine of a course I had never seen before with a 3putt bogie on #2 and a 6' missed putt for birdie on a par 3.
Then I go to the back nine and miss just enough shots by just enough to make five bogies with no birdies for a 41 on the back side.
Sitting in the clubhouse after posting 73 and having something to eat, I start to wonder what the course record is.
I go to the proshop to ask just to find that the lowest number ever posted there is -6 or 66 for 18 holes.
You can bet I wasn't happy with that after being -4 on the front.

I think I may have a mental block against being too far under par cause I've been more than a couple under with various # of holes to play but infrequently get it to the house that way.
One time I was even -2 on 18 tee and made double on 18 which was a reachable par 5.
How shameful.

I had one of those rounds on Sunday. Started off par/birdie, then threw in some bogies, a double and a snowman for a stellar 43 (+8). On to the back and made a great par on 10 (up and down from 140yds), birdie 11, burn the edge on 12 & 13, birdie 14, par 15, bogey 16 and par 17 & 18 for a 35 (-1). Frustrating, but nice to know the game is coming around, and better to do it that way than mess up a really good front side :)

Everytime I start thinking about my score and especially if it's a good one, the yips start to come in every part of the game......when I have a terrible front nine, I just relax more cuz I couldn't care jack diddley about how the rest of my round goes and it ends up being better than the front nine.
