Hey nuts,

I am looking for a new shaft to slap into my Innovex Cfd. I'm not too happy with my Diamana Blueboard 83 g4"t. The g4"t is supposed to be the same as the 5xct with the exception of a longer tip section (supposed to be for bore through heads). I really don't think the g4"t plays like the 5xct at all even though I knowingly have it in a non-bore through head. So i'm looking for a new shaft to pop in the Inny. Recommendations? I swing about 105mph, quick tempo and transition, earlier release.

Looking for something that's good bang for your buck. I love pulls! I've always liked the Fuji 757 so maybe I'll go back to that. What else is out there? Pershing? VS Proto? Comp NT?

Thanks in advance.
Kevin

Do yourself a favor, and take some of the money you plan on spending and get yourself in front of a GOOD clubfitter for an hour. You will be so glad that you did.

YOu can find a list on my website under the Club Builder link or at www.proclubmakers.org to find a clubfitter near you.

based on your tempo the V2 sounds better for you than the VS Proto which I beleive compliments a smoother tempo, however at the prices you are talking ACCRA maybe the best bet for a pull

Not to play devil's advocate here but the VS Proto is by no means only for the players with a smooth tempo. You'll find it hard to overswing or underswing for that matter, the VS Proto. One of the few shafts I know of that can fit both a swinger and a hitter.

Several Accuflex shafts fit your profile and offer excellent quality and value. I would expect the VS-339 or the Icon would suit you, and you might also consider the Icon v2 or the Assassin II. Specs can be found here:

Happy hunting!

A great shaft, I have it in one of my drivers.

The other shaft I love is the Graphite Design YS-6+, there is a good reason it has been the #1 shaft on tour for three years. Have one in my 905T and think I prefer it to the V2.

I swung a SST pured Graffaloy Axis yesterday at the Factory Golf Centre with a Wishon 420cc head on the end.WOW!Great shaft, and head combination. I was impressed with the effect of the puring.

Couldn't agree more - a clubfitter will steer you in the right direction as opposed to you guessing and spending alot of $ on different shafts with little success.

There's lots of great shafts out there - its a matter of putting together the right shaft for your driver head and your swing.

Good luck!

If you are looking for less spin and a firmer feel, why not try tipping the g4t to make it play more like the 5xct ?

It's already been extended and chopped down a bit. I fear another alteration and who knows what this shaft will play like  .

I've gone for fittings before. LM numbers indicate the 757 paired with certain heads generate the best combo in terms of launch angle and spin. I was just seeing what else was out there too.

You should get hold of Greenfield Golf (a sponsor I believe) as they carry Fujikura.
Not to thread jack but
- I have trouble finding the sponsors on this page - can someone point out where they are as visibility of the sponsors should be easy to spot, otherwise why bother?

Dan,

Go to the main forum page and look for the subheading Torontogolfnuts Affiliates. The sponsors that do club work on this forum are Swank Golf (jeff swain), Fore the Golfer (Jeff) and Pure Golf (Marcus and Thomas). I've had dealings with all of them before. All great guys.
