I just bought a Mizuno MX-500 driver with Pro-Launch shaft.............
I hit it well into the simulator and it was the right price. Anybody have any experience with this club?.....What about the shaft?........
Any info would be great!........
Thanks

As i use mizuno irons ( and many other mizuno items.lol) i tested this club extensively as i sooooo wanted to buy it.
The problem for me wasnt the golf club or the shaft!
Over in england it comes with a blue Exsar shaft as standard(probably comes with that everywhere.lol) (a bit whippy but i quite liked it) but the 1 i really liked was the upgraded Aldila shaft.
With the Aldila i thought it was the best 460cc driver i tested.
The problem for me is that i cant work the ball with a 460cc head the only shape i can hit it (on purpose.lol) is straight.
So unfortunately i had to pass on the mx500 (and everything else 460cc) i recently purchased a srixon as its only a 420cc (which is still massive in my opinion) but enables me to shape my tee shots a little.
I wish they would limit driver heads sizes myself (385cc or less would be nice)!
But the Mx 500 is an excellent driver.
I am not familiar with the pro launch shaft though sorry!

Well I disagree I could work the ball a little bit, the only problem
I had was the distance. Lack of distance, it was 20-30 yards
shorter than my 905S at the time that I owned one. But I also
used the stock shaft x-flex was all they had. If the price is right
how can you go wrong.

just to make it clear! it wasnt anything wrong with the club that meant i couldnt work the ball ( i think its a great club and as good as any 460cc on the market) i Personally Cant work the ball with ANY 460cc driver mizuno/taylormade/any of them.
I find that the head is too big and that i cant shape/control my shots with any 460cc driver !
i just wish mizuno had made the driver in say a 400cc size and also a 460cc for those who have this problem!

they had two there with the aldila shaft and one with the pro launch. I liked the pro launch better as the aldila didnt seem to hold up as well with my swing speed!...........And i got 10-15 yards better with the prolaunch on a simulator!

My apollogies I didn't mean anything by it, I was just stating that I could work the ball a little bit just lost 20-30 yards. Sorry:)

I went onto the Grafalloy website and went into the shaftfit, program just to see what the shaft I got was for. It seems that the shaft is for a high ball flight, big yardage shaft........not the best for me but I have always had a low ball flight so maybe it will be ok!............
price is right tho!

I think grafalloy make good shafts mate i just haven't used the pro launch myself!
Dont worry Louie with a 460cc in my hand I suck bad.......lol..........i didnt take any offence mate!:)
i honestly just cant hit the buggers properly! i think i tee them too low? i tee everything low as a rule and have never used a tee for an iron.

Like I said before if the price is right you can't go wrong. If you end up not liking it, you can use the money you've saved and put a good shaft in it.:)

please post what you paid for it! - (really interested to know)
I bought this driver with the stock Exsar shaft, but saw it in Golftown today on clearance for $200 with the Prolaunch Blue 65S.
They also had it with an Aldila NVS 70S for $200 ... personally I prefer the Prolaunch myself.
I'm thinking of buying this and then selling mine on Ebay (as the cost to replace the shaft is likely around the same for the driver net of selling mine).
I love this club and have had little/no problems with distance compared to others. With the Exsar shaft on the Launch Monitor I can hit it about 255-260 consistently, but spray about 25 yards in either direction. With the Prolaunch I get about 275-280 with more workability and about a 15 yard spray when trying to hit it straight.
I honestly believe this is the best dollar for dollar driver on the market. As for distance, I was also considering the Launcher Comp and SQ for fun ... I find both are about 10-15 yards longer, but also cost a lot more too.
but that's just my $0.02.
