Reanonable Priced and Toronto Golf seems to be an oxymoron these days
Everybody is charging an arm and a leg to play....
I played in Ottawa today and a "nice course + cart included" = $60.00
Try to march that anywhere in TO.

Agreed - Toronto area golfers are getting hosed to be sure. I'd be willing to bet that no other place in North America gets away with the rates that courses charge in the GTA. Guess it is supply/demand, but $70 for a twilight rate at Nobleton - that's a joke!
Seems courses are moving away from a decent twilight time as well - 5 is now twilight, not 3 or 4...
Sorry - I know that isn't much help...more of a rant...played St. Andrew's for $49 today for what it is worth...good value there...

RE: GTA golf prices.......couldnt agree more! Thats why i started a thread the other day asking about courses to the east, bownanville/newcastle even port hope. Coming from scarboro it is about the same distance to get there (east) as it is to get up to say king city or newmarket area. And the fees out there are cheaper, and would presume there are some nice courses. No suggestions for though, hope others do, will be watching the post.

I'm from Ottawa and I have to agree that GTA golfers pay a lot for golf. That being said, I thought the twilight rates at Don Valley ($32-$36) were not too bad and it was a decent course. I seem to remember that green fees in the Burlington/Hamilton area are pretty reasonable and easily accessible from the west end of Toronto.

I agree that twilight is getting higher in price - more people are taking advantage of it! - Its also stupid to say after 5PM is when it should start - 3:30 - or 4 should be the start time especially when the hackers are out there for a 5 hour round!!!!

If you are in the southern gta tyandaga in burlington is a good deal at $29 twi. While this is not the best course in the world compared to what you normaly get for less than $30 it is really good. Southbrook in Binbrook is $25 and is about as good a course as tyandaga but probably too far away unless you are already in the area.

There are alot of great courses that you can play for relatively cheap in the Hamilton/Guelph/Kitchener areas.
