Hey,
I was just watching a reg dvd on my playstation 3 and noticed that the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen were not the same width. The top bar was about an inch smaller than the bottom. Now it doesn't bother me, but I want to make sure I'm getting the best picture possible and that it doesn't effect the quality. Is it a problem and is there any way to fix it?
Thanks

I've never heard of that happenning. Although some TVs (mine has it) have a control where you can move the positioning of the picture. For example it could have been moved up, thereby cropping the top black bar just a bit. Usually this control is some where in the picture menu.

You could purchase a calibration dvd like Avia or Digital Video essentials, they have test patterns with rulers on the picture to tell you exactly where (if at all) the picture is out. You could also check out www.digitalhomecanada.com for more information they have a great forum of television buffs!

That's really cool. I had no idea such things existed.

Oh the fun times i spent adjusting my tv. Expext to spent a couple of hours going through it. But in the end i feel it was worth the time for the best quality your TV can present.

What TV do you have and how is the PS3 hooked up to the TV? (ie. component, s-video, etc...) This info may help us diagnose the issue.
