I went to set up an older b/up notebook for my wife.
She only uses the Internet, Outlook Express and MSN.

MSN Version 7 and 7.5 only works with XP, and this older notebook runs ME.
How can I install MSN 5.0 and get MSN to work. When I installed MSN 5.0 it says to upgrade to the mandatory release of MSN which requires XP to use.

How can I overcome this problem?
Computer is not compatible with XP operating system.
Suggestions ???????????????????????????????????????

Can you just use windows messenger that comes with windows? It uses the same network just has less frills.

Humm, most ME compatible PC's I've worked on took XP without a hiccup.

According to Microsoft's site, Messenger 7.x works all the way back to Windows 98, ME included.

You can use Trillian to access your msn instead....

another alternative is to use the web version of msn messenger.

I also recommend that you hide that computer behind a firewall or router of some kind. There are a lot of exploits with ME and explorer 5.

So i would be very careful surfing on that machine. I would recommend buying a XP compatible computer. But that is just my opinion.
