View Full Version : Hello & Golfing in Ontario in January?

I tried talking some of my golfing friends into a round these past few days given the unseasonable weather but couldn't find any takers. Then I stumbled across this website. I'd love to be able to say I played golf in Ontario in January. So, if anyone is looking for a 4th on a day with a forecast of say 10 degrees (or did we see the last of that kind of weather?), feel free to get in touch. I prefer weekends but have some flexibility during the week.
You should know that I'm a woman. Is that a deal breaker on this site? And, yes, I play from the red tees. I started golfing reluctantly about 7 yrs ago when I moved into a sales role. I am now hooked. I played over 50 times in 2006. I'm good at the golf etiquette thing and I'm rarely looking for balls (because I don't hit them far enough). I have been flirting with 100 all summer. Next summer is going to be my year :$

Hello GnarlyRabbit,
Welcome to the board. There is a lot of folks holding out hope that the weather will stay with us until spring. I'm mean what's the use of winter now. Christmas is over isn't it???
Don't let being a women shy you away when people are looking for a game. A few things you should remember.
1. This game can be played by anyone, some days. We're all just hackers hoping to put together a string of good shots. :)
2. Most these guys aren't that good as they think they are and none of them are sportin' PGA cards.
3. One of our ladies here (who just might be having a birthday shortly), can kick a lot of these boys. :help:
Glad to have you along for the ride. :D

You're right, Leftintherough. It's time to move on from "100". I hope to get more familiar with "95" next summer.
Thanks for the welcome everyone else!

I have to say I prefer the masculine side of men :) ... not to say that there is anything wrong with men with a feminine side
