So I am lead to a you tube clip from another thread here on TGN I watched a couple of clips that were supposedly banned from TV. I got a little bit of an idea that they didn't like OEM equipment. Now I've invested about $2300 on Callaway clubs. Have I wasted my money? Am I better off dumping these clubs and opting for a custom set from a fitter/builder? Can my current set be saved with adjustments from a fitter? I definitely want the best clubs for me but am unsure where I should go from here.

There is nothing wrong with OEM equipment T. Even big name brand equipment can be adjusted, reshafted etc to fit your game. The key is as you've said is to get together with a good fitter who can figure out your needs together with you.

Do you love your clubs? Are they working for you? If so, why consider changing?

Don't believe all of the hype for either camp. Somewhere in the middle is the truth for both.

I watched their program too, and I take what they say with a "grain of salt",
'cause ULTIMATELY they too are trying to SELL something!!!

Guitarman - did you get fit for your clubs by the place where you bought them, or did you visit Callaway's fitting center?

Callaway makes great equipment and has some of the best Customer Service in the business. If you think there is something wrong or mis-fit about your clubs go visit them in Concord. They want you to be happy with your purchase/s.

No I never really got fit for them. Although at golftown they put tape on the bottom of my irons and I hit a few balls. They told me the lies were ok.

You should think about going to Callaway for a fitting appointment. You can have your irons checked out, and get fit for a driver / shaft combo while you are there. The optifit system they have is pretty cool - they have dozens of shafts and literally hundreds of combinations you can try to find what works best for you.

I've been and plan to go again when the FT-5's are available.. :D

Hey man - do yourself a favour, keep the oem clubs, but lose the shafts. replace them with NIPPON shafts, you won't regret it.
