I went home at lunch and my youngest is home. It's a 5 minute walk from our house to the high school. Seems the teachers couldn't get there so the sent the angels home for the day.
Go figure. A guy I work lives 20 mile south and drove through freezing rain to get to work no problems.

i think around 90 percent of the kids in my school are driven by bus, so whenever we have a bus cancellation no kids bother showing up. (not that i mind)

My youngest is at school today. Our oldest came home because the teachers couldn't make it in. Funny but everyone in my office made it in and I have staff who have a long way to travel. Everyone reported that the roads where pretty good.

You are just having way too much fun at our expense now!

Actually was mostly freezing rain this morning. Snow is coming later on today. Probably just in time for the commute home.

the driving really wasn't that bad out of pickering but everyone slows to a crawl (with good reason) so it's mostly just more time.

The GO trains from Rouge Hill killed us today. We left the house at 7:30, got to Rouge hill GO Station at 8:20 (normally is less than 10 min) and we didn't get a train until after 9:30

walked into my office at almost 10:30. nice. wish we had snow days...actually we do - they're called personal days.

We have a lot of people who couldn't make it into the office. They used the freezing rain/snow/highway congestion as an excuse.

Someone mentioned to me before: 'The company does not choose where you live, if you choose to stay home, use a vacation day'.

any courses open year round in your neck of the woods Nope. But Ottawa must be the simulator capital of the world. Probably around 10 locations in the region, with one place that has 10 screens.

Something very similar for me. Once I got the ice cleared off the car it took forever to get down Liverpool and make the left onto Bayley. End up getting banished to Go's Eastern Siberia parking lot. Ended up catching the 7:45 cattle run which rand about 10 mintues late. I noticed hardly any peeps got on at Rouge hill. Typically the Rouge hill folks pack that train.

I remember the one near the Swiss Chalet on O'conner drive. Must be close to 30 years ago though.

Have you ever played the ones at Carruther's Creek?

that's my normal train (think it's the 7:53 for us) but we missed it (as must have a lot of folks since we were all waiting together for the next hour)because of the slow traffic - that was the last train to run even remotely on time...

this morning was much better, although the train was still late - getting used to that now...

I noticed it was late getting into Pickering this morning. The earlier cattle run (our 7:22) leaves anywhere from 7:23 to 7:30. My usual is the 7:30 sardine express. Standing room only, packed in like sardines.
