Hi everyone, I desperately need your help

Someone offered me an r7 tp set for $600 canadian. But the problem is that the shafts (s300) may not be right for me. Would it be cheaper if I buy it from him and have them reshafted or just buy them with the right shafts from golf town (maybe regular shafts).

Edit: i mean the iron set sorry!

They're $1000. new so if you're getting them for $600. that's a nice deal. Even if you upgrade the shafts, you should still be ahead of the game.

Which tp is it? th 425, or the 460?

I believe he was talking about the Taylormade r7 TP Iron set. The r7 Drivers are not $1000 new, haha.

As for advice on what to do - I would say take them for $600, and try the shafts out first. Depending on your swing speed, they could be great. S300 is the shaft I use, and I love them. Also, if you say that you can reshaft them and still be under paying $1000, why not do that?

Unless you can do the clubwork yourself, I would advise against it.

There are some clubmakers on this forum who can confirm pricing, but in my experience you're looking at $15-$25 per club for pulling the old shafts and putting in new ones - so that's around $120-$200 for re-shafting labour (I'm assuming the set is 3-PW). Then you have to add the cost of the new shafts and grips - for Dynamic Gold R300's you're looking at around $100 total for shafts and maybe $30 for grips. You might be able to sell your S300 pullouts and recoup some of your expenses.

It is a lot of work to save a few bucks - especially since re-shafting will probably void your warranty. Maybe if you were planning on spending the money to get custom-fitted anyway, you might be able to get a package deal that would make it worthwhile...

What i would do is buy them for $600 (provided they are in a condition worth $600) and take them to a fitter and make sure you would need new shafts. At that fitter they would offer you new shafts and maybe offer you a trade in for your old shafts. If they don't offer you a trade in you can always sell them as pulls.

Buying from these guys will cost you $875cdn after everything, as long as you are the sole bidder.

$600 buys a pretty decent set of clubs built to you, and to your personal specifications.
Quality heads
Shafts correctly lengthed, aligned, floed, etc.
Grips correctly sized to you
There are lots of qualified builders who would be more than happy to help.
It's worth the inquiry.

I would take them for $600 and try them out.The stiffer shaft may be better for you in terms of staying on plane.

Talk to TourIQ. He's a great resource.

If they're left-handed and you don't want them, I'll buy them!
