Just wanted to ... I guess the correct term is "gloat" :)
In 21 short days ... I'll be in Myrtle Beach for about 7 rounds and a warm up 9 hole on the day of arrival.
I've never been there before - so I am certainly hoping that it is reasonably nice in February (today its only 6 - just checked the weather).
We're have booked 4 courses - 3 legends courses: parkland, moorland and heathland as well as Heather Glen.
We haven't yet booked our afternoon games (3 of them) or our 9 hole warmup. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm ok replaying the ones we have booked, since the price is half on a replay and I'll probably never play them again, but there are 3 of us going, and they'd like different courses for each game. We are looking for reasonably priced golf here around 50-60ish per round - so if you have suggestions - please pour them on.
Thanks!

In 21 days the sun will set a few minutes before 6 PM, therefore if you want to get 36 holes in, you'll need to tee-off early before 8 AM to have any chance. Also, given the daylight issues and in order to save time and not drive to another course, you'll probably have to play the same course in the afternoon, but since you're playing the 3 Legends courses, you can at least play a different course then you did in the morning. Getting 27 holes in will not be a problem. Have fun.

I just came back, played there the 2nd week of January and the weather was great !! (two days cold enought to start with a hat and winter gloves, but the last 3 days we were wearing shorts)
We had rain on Monday (we were supposed to play Tobacco Road in Sanford NC before heading to Myrtle but since it was raining we just drove and played a course by the hotel in the afternoon)

The legends has 3 great courses. I don't know if they still do it now, but a few years ago around 12 noon you will start hearing the sound of bagpipes earily crossing the moorlands. Was very cool and eerie

The legends are nice, two years ago we played heathland and parkland back to back. The second round was only like $25.00 (Cart fee only)

When it comes to re-plays the courses like to get your money and have you play one of their courses or at least one they are affiliated with. Generally you'll be able to re-play where you started but if it's busy they'll call around to other courses in the area and get you out in the afternoon. Like mirak said, the usual re-play fees are the cart fee. Some higher end courses charge a bit more for re-plays but nothing over your budget. I think the most I have ever paid for a re-play was $55 or $60 at TPC.
As for playing your 9 holes when you arrive, it kind of depends on where you're staying as to where to suggest. If you're central there are a couple of Par 3 courses close to the center of MB. If you're playing in the afternoon when you arrive, you can always call around and get yourselves a twilight time around 1:00 or 2:00 and then play as many holes as light will allow. You'd probably be able to play somewhere like Wicked Stick for $30 or $40, with cart, and get 13 or 14 holes in, if not all 18 if the course isn't busy. The reason I mentioned Wicked Stick is because it's a good "first day" course in MB because it has pretty wide fairways and is a fairly wide open course.
Try not to spend too much money at Martin's!
Have fun and enjoy your trip!

I didn't book it - my b-in-law did, but I think its like 300 - 320 US$ / person (4 nights + 4 golf) + flight + car rental.

Last I checked they don't have any Myrtle Beach courses on LMG. The only South Carolina places they have are Charleston, Hilton Head and Santee. Which to my understanding is at least a 2 hour drive to the nearest one.

You're right. They've been promising Myrtle courses for a while now. I just had the impression that Santee was closer than that. I guess if you were driving, it would make more sense.

I wonder if none of the courses there don't want to get involved with LMG due to all the package deals they may already have with other companies???
But then again, they have Santee courses on there which appears to be a big "package" golf spot much like Myrtle Beach. I don't know...

My group goes down last week of Feb for last 7 years. Take a full variety of clothing.everything from shorts to long underwear and toques as the oceanside weather patterns can change in hours. The Legends complex is very nice . The 3 you're playing are basically what they'r called.....2 links style and a traditional park style. Get there early enough to take advantage of the great range. Nice clubhouse and a decent grill for burgers or whatever and a beer.
