Can someone tell me why I'm not allowed to respond to any posts? Was going along fine, then all of a sudden I'm not able to reply. A box comes up saying that my account may have been disabled.

Monte,
Clink on "quicks Links, go to edit options,scroll down to the bottom and see if you se this;

Message Editor InterfaceWhen posting messages to the forums or other members, there are three interface types available to you. The simplest of these is a simple text box, while the last is a fully-fledged WYSIWYG editor, which allows you to format your text as you want it and see the results immediately.

Depending upon the capabilities of your web browser, you may not be able to use all of these options. If you experience problems when posting messages, try switching to a different interface type.
Message Editor Interface: (drop down menu contains the following)
Basic Editor - A simple text box
Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls
Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing

You may have to change your setting as is stated.

or perhaps you are trying to respond to "For Sale" threads, which NO ONE can respond too!?

there's that STUPID gotcha that I'm willing to bet has afflicted our friend here...

Of all the forums I've been a part of (remember, I'm old, almost 40 :eek: ), this is the only forum to have such an idiotic rule... (yes, I'm a tad bitter 'bout it all...)

I think you've got it, thanks for the info, I think I understand now.

Thanks for responding, but I think it's the buy, sell, trade catch that's the problem.

I visit a couple of other sites and the useless dribble that gets added to peoples posts when they are trying to sell their items is remarkable.
How many times can 10 different people post either "I have one and I love it", "I had one and I loved it", or my favorite, "I've heard these are great and if I had the cash I would love to get this, but I can't at this time". Thanks for the info. :eek:

Of all the forums I've been a part of (remember, I'm old, almost 40 :eek: ), this is the only forum to have such an idiotic rule... (yes, I'm a tad bitter 'bout it all...) As a frequent seller on this forum, I like a rule that prevents thread-jacking and thread-crapping in the B/S/T.

As a browser at several other forums, I find it annoying when sellers constantly bump their thread three times a day - its almost as bad as spam. At TGN we have a rule against that - but it would be pretty meaningless if someone else could bump the thread for you.
