I have always stayed away from getting a wheel for any of my systems as I assumed getting a decent setup would be a bit of a nightmare and anything less would just plain suck.
After getting a chance to try the new 360 "wireless" force feedback wheel I was very impressed, it also worked quite well just by resting it on my lap. So I went out and got it. Then the more I thought about it, the more I wanted a better setup, but if I didn't really want to spend any money on it.
With Forza 2 coming out in April (Gran Turismo what now???) and a recent update enabling Force Feedback in PGR3 (comes with the wheel) I got to say I'm very excited about this thing! The force feedback is unreal as it provides very realistic resistance, go off road a bit and the wheel takes on a mind of its own. Since the Playstation 3 does not support rumble (a fatal mistake) and Sony has said there isn't going to be 1st party support for Force Feedback (the most important thing to have in a wheel) this is going to be huge for the 360 when Forza strikes.
Here's what I came up with for a decent setup:
- Poang chair (from Ikea, I already have 2 of these, they are fantastic and as comfortable as any chair you'll ever sit on, I guarantee it.
- Table Mate II (not as sturdy as I'd like but very adjustable and when I don't want to move the coffee table it just slides in nicely into my couch providing an alternative comfortable setup)
- M$ wheel + 360 + big *** tv + 5.1 sound

All I do is move the coffee table out of the way and bring in the poang from the other room, it is a bit of work but since I don't want to relocate my 360 it works fine for me. Leaving it in the middle of the room like this is not an option, the GF would kill me.
Any of you guys have a chance to put down Tiger 2007 for a second and try this out?
