Cassie Campbell drives me nuts!!!

I understand that she has had a great career as a female hockey player but she stinks as a sportscaster and interviewer! Just becasue someone was a great player, doesnt mean they will be a good broadcaster. Have you heard some of the questions she asks players?!?!:cookoo: CBC has got to cut her loose! BAD! VERY BAD! HORRIBLE! She makes Tie Dummy, I mean Domi, look like the new Joe Bowen! there has to be another lady out there that they can replace her with

I've only seen her a couple of times, but I like her. I thought her questions were fine, especially considering some of the idiotic questions asked by some of the other guys. Why do they keep asking players from the visiting team about what is happening with the home team? How the hell should some defenceman from Florida know what is wrong with the Leafs, and why would he say anything about it on national TV anyway?

I don't mind Don Cherry or Kelly Hrudy - I don't always agree with them, but I don't mind them. I agree with Annikafan about Kypreos, Cole and Neale though. Long past their due date.

Come on now ... Kypper is actually pretty knowledgeable if you listen to him. I watch and listen to the Hockey show on Sportsnet and the Fan at lunch and the guy knows what he's talking about.

As for Bob Cole and Harry Neale ... if you can find 2 better play by play guys, that work as well together as they do, I' be surprised.

Don Cherry has become a guy that either you hate him or you love him, no in between, and with all the things he says, I understand that a lot of people could hate him. I for one like him, because he tells the truth and doesn't worry about what the CBC exec's think ... until after he says it!

I agree with the original post .... Cassey Campbell is not a commentator. She could be in a few years, but she needs a few years on Community Cable doing some commentary for Junior "C" hockey games to get some experience.

I agree with you about everything except Cole and Neale. Let me revise what you said to be correct. There are not 2 better play by play guys that work as well together for leaf fans. However for the opposing team's, neale and cole are the worse announcers out there. They can't remember names of players, and i'm not talking like Vermette or Ryder, but they screw up like Souray or Redden, its pathetic.

????? I am not saying what I said is correct ... just what I have noticed and what I prefer. I have the Centre Ice Package on Bell Expressvu and watch hockey every night .. almost all of the games. I can't stand most announcers as for the most part they don't have a hot clue what they are talking about. Neale & Cole understand the game of hockey which makes listening to them easier than some guy from the states who has never strapped on a pair of baldes!!

ok..you caught me..i dislike announcer/analyst who have a hard on for the leafs..so..i'm bias....

Cherry/Hrudy...never liked Cherry...i used to like Hrudy until both of them started to bash on Rory Fitzpatrick because of the Rory fiasco...even though RORY have not criticized or praised the entire Vote for Rory idea...its not Rory's fault!!! There's no need to make personal attack on Rory......after the voting results, Rory was interviewed saying that he's reliefed that its over..but he was frustrated on some of the comments that people made about him like it was his fault (hint hint nudge nudge kelly krudey) ...btw..i am indifferent on the vote for Rory situation


but come on, harry neale and bob cole...i know lots of leafs fans who hate them both..and hope they retire soon

Back to Cassie - I just found her questions on Hockey Day In Canada and at the Allstar game terrible. They didnt even make sense. Did you see her asking Shannahan questions at the Allstar game? Shanny was looking at her like she was nuts!

I can't say much about Campbell as I have only seen her for about a total of 3 minutes all season. The topic just made me think of Kelly Hrudy in the first couple of years. It was painful listening to him... Now I can tolerate him.

As for Bob Cole and Harry Neal, I agree with you Copetown. I don't think they have a hard on for the leafs... they just see them more often than other teams so they know the players a little more.

Living in Ottawa I hear the same comments all the time. I find the HNIC bunch to be great. They are not chearing for one team over another. They are as excited when either team scores. Ottawa fans have no reason to complain about Bob and Harry being one sided... it is nothing compared to listening to the Ottawa broadcasters. The whole game is about Ottawa, how the refs missed a call against Ottawa, and the only emotion is when Ottawa has the puck. Ottawa fans have an inferiority complex and feel everyone is out to get them.
