Hi Everyone,
I'm relatively new to TGN and really enjoy the site.
I just took up the game this past August and managed to play almost 50 rounds up to the end of the year. I'm in my early 50s, play left-handed and have had some widely inconsistent scores ranging from a high of 106 to 88 - all on courses ranging in length from 5400 yards to 7200. I am taking lessons however and my ball-striking is improving.
I live north of Alliston and am interested in joining a club in the Newmarket to Barrie area. I'd like to join a club that will let you walk the course and has a "nice" (i.e. helpful to and tolerant of newbies) friendly membership. The clubs that I am looking at so far are Pheasant Run, Tangle Creek, Bear Creek and Cardinal. I'm a tennis member at Glenway and their membership is very friendly but I think the course is just okay.
Does anyone have any comments about these clubs or other recommendations? Your help would be very much appreciated.
Cheers
Keith
