Hi Everyone,

I'm relatively new to TGN and really enjoy the site.

I just took up the game this past August and managed to play almost 50 rounds up to the end of the year. I'm in my early 50s, play left-handed and have had some widely inconsistent scores ranging from a high of 106 to 88 - all on courses ranging in length from 5400 yards to 7200. I am taking lessons however and my ball-striking is improving.

I live north of Alliston and am interested in joining a club in the Newmarket to Barrie area. I'd like to join a club that will let you walk the course and has a "nice" (i.e. helpful to and tolerant of newbies) friendly membership. The clubs that I am looking at so far are Pheasant Run, Tangle Creek, Bear Creek and Cardinal. I'm a tennis member at Glenway and their membership is very friendly but I think the course is just okay.

Does anyone have any comments about these clubs or other recommendations? Your help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Keith

Hey Keith, welcome to the Forums... unfortunately I can't comment on any of the courses you mentioned but its only a matter of time before someone does.

Hi, I've played the west of Cardinal numerous times and for me it's a great course for a great price. I didn't know that they had memberships but if they do and it's a fair price.

They have 2 18's and they are both great courses... Great service and all that.

Hope that helps...
