Upon missing a round at Cardinal, I had a weird thought when driving along Brimley and McNicol. Can we play golf along the open area where all the electric towers are located? The area is pretty wide open and flat, some up uphills. Perfect for a straight-away par 5.

What do you guys think?

A lot of courses have holes around these kind of towers. No one would want their house there so land is cheap. The courses just invoke a local rule whereby if you hit a power line with your ball you must replay the stroke.
Help me on this one.... is it Copetown Woods I'm thinking of that has a bunch of these power lines or is it Willow Valley?

Parkview's got a crapload of towers. Hitting one is always funny! You can hear it throughout the course ("Oh there's another one.")

But it's not even a golf course. It's just a piece of land with grass ... Just like a park or something.

My question really is ... Is it against the law to play golf outside of golf course or driving range?

I would think that treaspassing could be an issue if it not a park like some of the land under the hydro right of ways is. You would also be liable if you hit your driver with a duck hook through a window, or injured someone.

Could you do it, yes. Is it worth it within the city, I don't think so.

My question is...WHY would you even consider this? I guess sometimes that golf itch can make you do some drastic desperate things. :D To answer your question though, I don't think there's a law stating you cannot golf there but like GRT said, you don't want to be liable for breaking or damaging anyone's property. Pay the $$$ and go to a range or something.

Like GRT said about Liability? Now we need to give reading lessons after grammer and spelling.
