Has anyone played this course. It looks nice and challenging, good yardage from the tips and a great price.
I will be going on Sunday at 2:00 for the first twlight tee time, for $35.

Hi Mike,
I play Lakeridge a few times a year and I enjoy the layout very much. It does have some drainage issues and can have some soggy fairways on occassion but it does have some interesting holes with some perplexing greens. They are usually quick and roll true with subtle breaks.
Perhaps a good a set of par 3's as you will see around Toronto. #3 is a medium length downhiller to a very tricky green with a creek behind it. #7 is a short downhiller to a green surrounded by trees and a creek. #11 is a long par 3 where you can see only half the putting surface from the tee and #17 is a medium length shot completely over water to a shallow green. I like all of them alot.
A few very good par 4's as well like 2, 7, 13, 14!!!, 15. I think 14 is one of the better par 4 around as well.
The par 5's are straightforward.
The clubhouse isn't much but I have always enjoyed the course.
Hope you enjoy it.
Pud.

Good course Mike you'll enjoy it. Kind of course you feel you should post a real low score on, but never do. Hopefully you'll have more success than I have. Lot's of birdie holes, especially the par 5's, but also a couple of really good par 4's out there. $35 is a great price even if it's not your cup of tea.

On a weekend - if its nice - I hope you dont mind 5+ hour round!!! - I had written about my experience of a 6+ hour round there and I haven't been back since! Pack a nice lunch and maybe some reading material as you will be waiting 10+min on each shot if the weather is nice!! They just love to load up the course:mad:

Mike:
Most people really like the track or don't like it at all. It's usually in good shape, the staff is friendly enough, and it's as long as you want it to be (yardage, not time).
Personally, I can never score well there and have never figured out why. I think it's the type of course that needs to be played A LOT before you kick its ***.
Enjoy your round, let us know what you think.
Oh ya, don't miss the green right on #1 and go deeper than your yardage on #2.

Thanks for the insight guys. I am hoping with the hit and miss weather this weekend it will not be too crowed.
The price is a spring special. I called ot book assuming I was paying the $50 or whatever it is and asked if there was a spring special and $32 it is.
I will post on Sunday if we do not get rained out, and hopefully we make it through if we play.

So. It was worth the drive. Almost not worth the freezing conditions, but that was not the course's fault.
It is a good test from the tips even more so with that 2 club wind blowing. The 8th is a hoot of a par 4, escpically when someone gets a chip in eagle. I will definitly think of going back when it is warmer and dryer.
mikejb, the last 2 rounds i played were in the cold haha...had to wear a winter hat or ear muffs...
