Weir is paired up against Levet in the first round...Singh is seeded #2...Els #1????..hmmm...no respect given to VJ imo!....

Tiger won't play until the 21st of Oct...and he's even debating playing in that tournament...say it ain't so Tiger!!

Agreed Ego!! NO respect for VJ!!! Player of the Year, leader in money earnings, 8 tour wins this season and he gets the #2 seed???

I think an underdog will win this tournament. Match play in this format is too hard to predict. I know the Europeans will dominate though. The US players don't have the experience playing in Match Play. Would definately like to see Weir finish final 4 and either Els or Singh to win.

Tiger's having too much fun on his honeymoon, his mind isn't even on golf right now. I think he should just throw the towel in for the year. Play in his host tournament, the Target Challenge and refocus for next season. BOO on Tiger!!!

Hmmm u sure about that?? Americans are one of the best in match play...look at past Ryder Cups and President's Cups.....also look at this year's Accenture Match Play Championship..(WGC)...the final was between Tiger and Davis Love III.....

This years Ryder Cup proved the US couldn't play in any format period. I look at the Americans in this tournament (Flesch, Riley, Hamilton and Maggard) and the only real threat is MAYBE Hamilton. I see Els, Singh, Harrington, Jimenez and Westwood all playing really well lately. Tough to see an American win this.

It's going to be pretty gruelling for them.....4 days, 36 holes each day....lotsa golf...huge prize tho...$1 million euros to the winner......

Thanks Ego...major upset from Langer. Atleast VJ came back from 3 down to tie but then lost in the 1st extra hole...VJ will bounce back....still favouring Els to win...wouldn't be surprised to see Westwood or Jimenez win either....hey, Woods and Nordegren got detained by US Coast Guards for not notifying authorities apon their arrival in San Juan...haha...

surprised no one posted this earlier, but Ernie Els wins this event on his 35th birthday beating Lee Westwood...

Els didn't play his best on Sunday and was fortunate to have Westwood feeling sick during their match. Els did make a huge birdie on the 34th hole to put pressure on Westwood. Well, I'm happy for Els. Nice to see him get some wins and play good golf! Way to go Ernie!

Els gained a couple basis pts and VJ lost some in the world rankings thanks to Els' win. I'm glad to see that not much was gained from it since only 16 players were invited.
