Els Irritated at PGA Tour's Requirement

Regarding this article: http:// (http://<u>/)www.thegolfchannel.com/core.aspx?page=15100&dv=4447852&select=14633 (http://www.thegolfchannel.com/core.aspx?page=15100&dv=4447852&select=14633), I think that's just stupid of the PGA to do ask for a commitment like that....Els is truly a world player in every sense of the word...PGA is just reeling right now because of Tiger (much to my own disappointment!) has not entered many tournaments this year and quite a number of their tournaments have lacked some star power in them...this includes last week's tournament (Michelin Championship) and also this week's tournament (Chrysler Classic)....they must be feeling the pinch now!

Definately a selfish reason from the PGA to increase viewership and a marketing tactic. Els has all the right to play where ever he wants to whenever he wants to. Too much VJ, not enough Els and Tiger. Whom ever's in charge of the PGA's marketing dept should be ashamed of themselves.

Not that I heard of.....I really don't think PGA can do anything about it...if Els makes the required minimum to keep his status, he is meeting their own policies..it'll be tough luck for them...

Well speak of the devil...looks like PGA was doing some backtracking regarding the letter they sent to Els....article (www.golfserv.com/gdc/news/article.asp?id=28683)

haha...I think the PGA realized it made a huge mistake by demanding Els to play more in the US for their selfish reasons. It was good that Els said what he said and stuck up for what he feels is right. Els is a world class player and should be able to play where ever he wants to without violating his tour cards rules.
