Had the day off today and played Deer Creek South. Great new banquet hall, seats 900 guests and over 46,000 square feet, but lets talk about the course. Fairways were ok, a few spots here and there but not mid summer condition. The greens were on the poor side. Some greens were patchy and bumpy. A rather short course around 6400 from the tips, 5900 from the whites. Most par 4's are short, you can get inside 100-150 on most holes off the tee. $40 weekday green fee is decent but borderlining "not worth it" IMO, unless they improve the conditions.

I wish course owners read this stuff ................. AND did something about what they read.

They have great twilight rates. I'm not sure if it changed since April, but it was only $25 after 2 or 3pm when I went there a few weeks back.

I wish course owners read this stuff ................. AND did something about what they read.Oh, they know about this stuff. They just can't change the weather here in Canada. It is only May 11 by the way.

Believe me, I have seen many, many golf courses this spring and very few are without some damage from winter kill or the sort this year.

Only time and decent weather will solve this for many. Consider yourself lucky if the course you play is unblemished.

The conditions this past winter with early ice formation while grass was still growing underneath killed a lot of sensitive turf.:(

I think GRT is referring to the price change, because there isn't much they can do about the conditions of the course at this time..

Played an excrutiating 5.5hr round there last week. A group was holding everybody up by playing slowly, hitting 100-150 yds shots, and helping each other look for lost balls. Marshall did not restore order until the 14th or 15th hole. No food and beverage cart during the entire round either.

Avoid going there on weekdays from 10am to 3pm. It seems that is when all those people with time on their hands come out to play.

Don't hold your breath waiting for a golf course with a green fee of $40 to improve conditions. Especially if all the tee times are being sold. This is a huge tournament course with an excellent banquet hall so....They will always be soldout, especially in the month of June.

Never much cared for Deer Creek - the course imo sucks and 5hr round is pretty quick for there. North course is a little better but there are much better courses for the $ and time.

Marshalls? - they actually have them there? Once they get your money service is down the tube!
