Hi all - I just joined the board as I have been looking for some good spring spots (getting out earlier this year :)).
Has anyone played Kleinburg yet? The pro shop their said the course is in good shape, drying out nicely, and was thinking of taking a day off and heading up...
Thanks!

play it now because it's been sold for houses, closes in a year, so I have been told, from a very realiable contact in the commercial real estate game, Some nice holes.

Just called the course. It has indeed been sold but will stay open until the end of the 2009 season. So no rush to go play. Too bad, not a bad course, good for beginners, great for finding golf balls (did alot of that when I was younger). Can't believe they are going to build houses there. They are going to have to move ALOT of earth, not the flatest piece of land. Also that little ravine/creek running through the course, wonder how they are going to deal with that.

they paid big, big dollars for the land, they must have a plan.

I played on Thursday April 19th. It was a little soft in spots, but not all that bad for April. The good news is that the greens held nicely (lol). The rough is where most of the water is held. Im sure after yesterdays warm temps, and todays expected temps it should be much better. I played White to Red...Note...I (unfortunatley) may have had my best shot of the year in my first round of the year @ the white 9th. A sand wedge to 10 inches from just right of the cartpath 5 yards below the bridge. ( i guess you didn't need that info, but what the heck)

Hey, Kleinburg's not that bad a track. It's never been great but it has some nice holes and it's good value for the money. Played yesterday for $43 with cart and it was in pretty good shape for this time of year. And from the posts I've been seeing, it's one of the better deals this spring. I'd rather play there than Hidden Lake for $69.
