Okay so I'm really having a hard time finding a job in todays market that is fulfilling and offers growth. I am really not interested in being involved with sales any longer and I'm hoping that in a forum such as this with a more mature crowd someone might be able to offer me an opportunity. Anyways here's my resume feel free to copy a paste if know of any positions that are out there.

i highlighted some parts (and in blue)of your resume that needed fixing hope you don't mind
1- conducive- spelled wrong
2. I believe - should not be in a resume
3. DREW E Smith - font is way to big- should not stick out so much
4. months - don't need to use months in a resume - just the years
5- new a used - i think you mean new and used
6 different font - whole resume should have only 1 font style
7 interests - does not belong in a resume these days
8 - References - it goes without saying - therefore this does not need to be in the resume
I hope this helps
GOOD LUCK

I would have to disagree. Interests DEFINITELY belong in resumes. HOWEVER, they need to be relevant in some way or form to the job or atleast show something positive.
A lot of interviewers ask about interests during interviews or ask specifically about interests you've listed in your resume

I work for a great company right now. I think the best fit would likely be in sales unfortunately, but if you send me a PM I'd be happy to discuss the company with you and see if we can't get your foot in the door in a position that would fit with your aspirations and strengths.

I would rather see the mistakes in a resume. A clue maybe.
I do not want a resume which is all doctored up by someone else.

well, it depends on what field you're in. I'm a Professional Engineer and I know that if i made mistakes like that i would not get in the door for an interview. The resume has to be perfect. No doubt.
What are your thoughts on the other points i made in regards to the resume?

I didn't mean it to sound harsh. I just meant, if you've got lines in the water you better be prepared to real it in if you get a bite. Perhaps he's got too many lines out there and is missing a few opportunities that may present themself as a result of it.

Thanks for looking but let me cover my bases here,
1) Spelled correctly, try looking it up
2) I stand corrected it shoud be "I know" or something along the lines that implies confidence not unsureness(if that's a word)
3) I cut and paste from the original word doc. and that is TGN's formating
4) Really, cause I went to school for business and that is actually part of the guidelines for writing a resume for a shorter period of time.
5) Well I'm not perfect and thanks for pointing that error out.
6) Used a standard windows template just filled in my info, funny cause this was listed as the professional resume template
7) Absolutely applies in modern companies, they often have more interest in what you do outside of work hours than inside.
8) Lets just say we agree to disagree but I see your point.

I fortunately found a job not a career that offers me the hours I was looking for to continue my education and facilitate my pecuniary requirements. I also was not getting a lot of Feedback at the time and failed to keep up this post. However I always keep my ear to the ground for new and better opportunities, feel free to contact me as I would be interested to here what you may or may not have to offer at this time.

I work for a small consulting firm. We're always recruiting so I've seen my fair share of resumes. I've seen it all and have also interviewed for a ton of jobs (nature of consulting). I've never once been asked or asked about personal interests. Some people insert pictures of their families and cars while others add all sorts of personal info that is completely irrelevant (height/hair colour). One guy a week ago added that he was a +3 handicap. That was a first.
All resumes should be tailored to the position being applied to and be absolutely perfect in spelling. Sending out a blanket resumes to a ton of places seldom works and is actually counterproductive. The job market is competitive these days and your resume is the first opportunity for you to sell yourself to a potential employer. Your best bet is to get into contact with a recruiting firm and have them work with you. They'll help you with your resume and prep you for interviews.
When unemployed, finding a job is really like a full time job and should be treated that way.

Well once its doctored you'll never know will you.
But say you do know. What having someone help you fixing it tells me is, that the person cares enough to fix all the details. (showing attention to detail is a very important feature) and isn't afraid to ask for help. Nothing more frustrating than having someone work with/for you that would rather screw something up then to just ask for help.

I review many many resume over the years. The overly polished ones typically would raise some question marks.
The ones that are plain, clear, concise, and lacking in business mumbos jumbos are the ones that normally attract my attention.

Very interesting thread. Some great points regarding resumes adn interviews.
I myself have not been to many interviews but when I have been back for the second or third for the same position, everytiem I haev been asked abotu some personal aspects of my life. Maybe it depends on the job or how you carry a conversation.

I believe that is how you spell conducive or at least one accepted popular spelling. Might be annoying when I guy posts soley to let you know how poor your resume is overall and then the first point being incorrect. If this is not an accepeted spillleng of the word due to context or something, please let us know.
He did state he got employment and didn't follow thread after due to that and lack of posts.(1 month till the first one)

I think the guy who corrected the resume is/was trying to be helpful. I would be glad if someone in that situation cared enough (and took the time) to correct my mistakes or possible mistakes.

Maybe so. The whole thread seemed a bit negaitve is all. Maybe I should edit my thoughts.
By the way, is that how you spell the word in question? Also, regarding fonts on TGN/ and some other things, maybe the said post should be edited also but probably just hasn't stayed 'up to date' with the thread just the same.

Thank you for seeing my point Merlot I appreciate someone else chiming in that doesn't want to add further crap to the thread. It amazing that people form such concrete opinions when they are not even fullly or properly informed. Thank you for taking the time to look further into this than just the last post.:)
I would hope people would get someone to proof-read their resumes. It's like how I would never let a document go out to my clients without having it reviewed by someone first. If anything it shows you're conscientious.
Regarding attaching pictures on resumes, I have heard that being common, even required in some countries. I think it may be a cultural thing though I disagree with the rationale for it.

We are in the midst of opening up our call centre in the Phillipines. The resumes I've seen come in all have pictures on them. I've never put my picture on a resume.

That's a cultural thing. They probably listed their sex, height, weight, and marital status as well as added a picture of themself -- stuff that we would never do here.

I agree, it is a cultural thing. Maybe someday they will get rid of the photos and other not-so-relevant infos, but then again some companies are interested on those. Oh well, if they are up for identity theft why not right? LOL:D

What is wrong with the way "conducive" is spelled? Imagine taking the time to tell someone that a correctly spelled word is incorrectly spelled. I hope you didn't design any bridges that I drive over.
