That course is about 15 minutes north of me, I have never played it but know many who have, nobody has a good word for it, give it a pass!

banty's roost is the perfect reason why some courses do not deserve to exist and should be turned into wal-marts

After playing there for the last time, 2 years ago, my best bud said he could not be paid enough to play that apple orchard again.

We both used to play there because it has 3 9's so it is a rate GTA course you can alway's get on. radio commercials at the time extolled the virtues of the bent grass tee's, the 'finest silica sand' etc.
We used to shake our heads at the muddy tee boxes, etc. Horrible.

Watch out for a scam this course has going. They have hooked up with a marketing company and have sales people going door to door selling coupon books for $40. For that you get two greens fee tickets and a bunch of discount coupons (2 for ones, etc.) What the salesman does not mention is the fine print which says that to use the coupon you must rent a power cart. The price is not listed- you find that out when you get to the course- $36!! So you save only a few bucks over what you would have paid to walk with no coupon. A polite "sorry for the misunderstanding" is the absolute antithisis of the response you get when you complain, by the way. They are really rude there! Talk about no concept of how to sell your course.

Bantys roost takes all of the pleasure out of golf. I wouldnt entertain any discount coupons to play there.

If you pay me $40 I might consider playing that course again.

I keep seeing them advertising in The Star on their 'tournament package' for $70 or something. I'd like to know the organizations that have taken up the offer.

Garbage course, even worse service....I don't know how they stay in business because I can't think of 1 person who has enjoyed their experience there....BOOOOO!!!!!!

I know it's fashionable to get your hate on for Banty's Roost. I was more disgusted with their service than with anything else. And the course is bad, but it's a day on the course and that's ok with me. I don't think we need to keep stating how much everyone hates it.

It can't be that bad. I'd play there if someone were going to pay me.:D

Most of the comments listed here accurately reflect the course in past years. I played there THIS year and was shocked at the improvement. Water has been added to numerous holes......the orchards are a thing of the past and obviously with the water reservoirs , the course is now well maintained (it used to be unwatered and so dry it was like hitting a rubber ball down the fairway that could bounce miles in any direction). A pleasure to play ! Kudos to ownership which apparently spent millions on the reno.

I played this year and unfortunately, can not agree with you CanColt. The primary reason it wasn't a pleasure to play for me was because, none of the staff (literally no exceptions that day) could be interpretted as being polite in any way. The staff ruined my experience from the second I stepped foot on their property.

I said it before and I said it again, any day on the course is better than off, so I'm not going to bash any of the conditioning or hold it against anyone THAT much (which I don't think is acceptable either for the prices).

To give kudos to staff or ownership or any individual that is a part of that organization (and it is an organization, designed to take money and be underhanded about doing so) is misplaced praise. It seems every staff member I encountered went out of their way to not only not be polite, but to overtly be rude. I found it to be a "we've got you here now attitude". They simply had us (3 groups of people) on the course, and knew we weren't going to leave, and didn't care if we ever came back - and I certainly won't because of their attitudes.
