On course etiquette started to slide back in the late 80's when people started ripping off ball washer towels. Superintendents started chaining them down after that. Personally, I could never figure out why someone would steal a dirty towel.

Ah,
These would be the same idiots teeing up that fabulous brand of ball known as "RANGE V1" Red or White stripe all around the ball, you may have seen them someplace.
Classic idiot favourite.
Cheers.

Cheers.Hey now!!!

When you know your game like I do and you are sitting at a 120 yd par 3 with 90+ yds of water between you and the green on the other side....

Sometimes having a range ball handy is a gift.... :D

Ewww, that's gross. Most of those towels have been so used I wouldn't even wipe my clubs with them.

That doesn't change the fact that you stole a ball from the driving range.

If you're at that stage of your golfing game, hit one...if you lose it in the water. Goto other side and drop. For the rule sticklers, give the newbies a break.

The idiots that steal the towels from the ball washers are also the first ones to complain when a coure raises the price of their green fees.

Wow didn't know that happened at golf courses. If you can afford to pay the green fee...people should pay for new towels instead of swiping dirty used ones. Can anyone explain why there is always at least one ball washer on a course that is empty? Do people throw out the soapy water on purpose or something?

Can anyone explain why theres always some idiot to ruin whatever good is available?

Ever notice how good things are often ruined or taken away cause some moron said or did something to make the generosity disappear?

I don't even touch those things. They are so dirty. A towel is like $10 bucks at any store. I have never even played at a course that has good towels. Every where I have ever played has those crappy green ones that I could never understand why someone would want one.

funny .... a buddy of mine always whips out one of these when he hits over or beside a water hazard. even if it is his approach shot, he'll reach deep into his bag and pull out one of these red-stripes, drop it within a club length of where his tee shot landed ... and play on!

i'm not 100% sure, but there must be some local rules busted by him doin' this.
