Hi,

I am looking to buy more new balls now taking my game further. I am wondering if anyone has any advice on balls. I am not worried about slices/hooks as I have a nice straight swing! I am looking for more distance off the irons, as I can shoot 225 with a 7-iron. Please suggest any balls that are under 25 dollars CANADIAN.

Are you kidding, anyone that can hit a 7 iron 225 yds doesn't need to worry about buying balls that will go further, how's your short game.

If you're really 12 and you're really hitting your 7-iron 225 yards, you don't need to buy balls. The ball manufacturers will buy you.

no offense but 225 yards with a 7 yard is kinda fishy haha.

And how is your tempo?

As for balls, try last year's Callaway HX Hot---$25 at Galltown.

In his defense he may have meant 4 iron as the keys are adjacent to each other on the numpad.

Even still a 225 yard 4 iron is still absolutely amazing for a 12 year old!!!

No kidding guys, I swear on my life and on Jesus's name that I can hit with a range ball, 225 yards with a 7-iron, not a 4-iron. As for my short game, it is ok, I find I always overshoot the hole, but that is probably my problem. I was just wondering, what ball should I use? :D Oh ya, I am 12.

Use a Nerf ball. That way we can play together.

Are you sure that is not on XBOX 360 or Playstation 3??

Sorry Jake I just don't believe you..

I don't doubt you hit the ball along way, but I suspect perhaps the yardages at the range are a tad off. That's pretty darn far.

That said, if it was the case that you could do this and I were you, I'd never hit anything over a 5 iron and be in the middle of the fairway everytime.

Haha, I will try a different range tonight and tell you the outcome... just in case they are a bit wonky there! WHAT BALL SHOULD I USE!!

jebs, think of it this way. WHat do I gain from lying? It is pointless really! And really, I dont care if you believe me either! I just want advice on a ball man.

Jake If you can hit a range ball 225 yards with a seven iron consistently, straight without a hook or slice I do not think that getting more distance from a ball is your main concern unless Jason Zubak is your hero. I would suggest you grab whatever ball is on sale. Any ball will pretty much out perform a range rock!!

When you start hitting your driver 500 yards let us know !!!! We can find you a great manager at IMG and start working on your retirement!!

Have a great week end!!

And I can not do it consistantly, but I do it pretty often. Besides, my mom was the one telling me the distances after I shoot!!! Ask anyone at this forum www.snowguns.com my age, I am 12. Just dont laugh when you see the name Jake Nolan in the PGA tour in 20 years. Can we pleeasss stop talking about this.

Jake,

With your swing speed you are up there with the pro's, so use the balls they use - Titelist Pro V1 or Pro V1x, or TaylorMade TP Red or Black

Ooops, I noticed the $25 price request. In that case, and earlier post suggested Callaway HX Hot, and I too have found those to be very good

(I thought they were more than $25 though)

I think some worthwhile advice is find yourself a CPGA pro and get yourself some lessons while your new enough not to have too many bad habits yet.If you get the fundamentals right, you could be awesome!

Then you are on your way to the Tour!

I would suggest the Bridgestone E5's...thay're priced fairly low (compared to Pro V's) and they have a urethane cover (better spin around the green). It is a 2 piece ball, but IMHO they are a very good 2 piece.

I am taking lessons privat from a pro, Steve Cooper. He is who I have to thank for my swing with the irons. Though I am not a good driver(havn't touched that in lessons for more that 30 min.)

go with Titleist ProV1x.

..as I can shoot 225 with a 7-iron.

i think Jake means that when he plays a Par-72 course from the tips with only one club in-hand (7 iron), btw: great practice to improve your creativity and shot making,... he can shoot a score of 225 for the 18 holes.

hence "I can shoot 225 with a 7-iron."

If you go to www.foxrungolfcentre.com (http://www.foxrungolfcentre.com) ... the range I have a pass at, there used balls are CHEAP! You can get 12 GOOD condition Taylor-Made balls for 19.99...All the expensive balls are that price... you want some Pro V1's then go there... good condition for again only 19.99. Amazing prices.
