I hope you are joking, because I am quite sure these clubs are fake. There are too many things to list that are wrong with this ad, but I'll try to name a few:

1. The wood headcovers are completely wrong
2. I don't think new clubs come wrapped like that
3. The bag looks cheap and of poor quality
4. Almost every set of fakes I've seen on eBay or elsewhere come in complete sets such as this
5. The seller doesn't specify which model of fairway woods or putter
6. No details on shaft flex or model
7. Poor quality pictures

If you are actually serious about buying these clubs, I would ask the seller for high quality pictures of the clubs and shafts. This will help confirm whether these are real or fake.

Was this too good a deal to be true???

Perhaps it's not true....did they come from the Far East? If so he paid a few hundred bucks.

The guy claimed he does not play and got it as a present..... They are regular sharts.

I figured I post here I'd be told they are fakes....

Everywhere they say Callaway golf, ie on the gips and the shafts.

Should have gone to Golftown first to check.... but they look like awfully good knockoffs.....

May have to go have them tested.

Boy, how to ruin a good day.....:$

Right away, I can tell you from the packaging they are fake. No OEM packages their irons for sale like that, and only one set Callaway made offered it with the putter and it was not the set you just bought.

I'd contact that seller and demand my money back.

If you'd rather we take a look at the irons, post some shots of the soles of the 460 driver, one pic of the grip and one pic of the back of an iron.

I'd just tell the guy that I'm going to report him to Toronto's finest.

He'd have to be as stupid as me.... I have his email and phone #, unless he really is stupid.... Of course I could have also taken his license plate, which I did not.

May get them tested, before I play a round with them....

But they do look exactly like on the Callaway site, except the spelling is Caloway ;).

Shafts on irons say RCH Pro Series M75i.

I should have just played dumb and pretend they are legit and say nothing here;).... Anyhow I paid $700....

I have to unfortunately agree with the comments here, they are fakes. Beware of anyone selling "complete" sets with woods, irons, a putter and a bag, this is a common practice for sellers trying to pass off fakes as the real thing. Poor pics in auctions, including sites like Craiglist and Ebay, are also a giveaway, sorry that they got you on this one!!

Callaway is the most frequently copied fake on the internet. Even they're own club reps cant tell the real from the fakes. The only reason Callaway even knows theres fakes out there is because some fakes came back for warranty because the heads fell apart.
You see, the copy heads were 3 pieces welded together. The origonals were one piece cast.
It took all of 1/2 a second for the engineers at Callaway to say, "we didn't build these clubs" when broken copies came in.

I don't know if yours are real or not but I'd suggest to anyone, take great caution when buying Callaway online.

And those iron covers are standard issue for the fakes they sell in China.

This guy was probably as dumb as me (email & phone #).... They look awfully good and I actually hit the PW and hit it better then my current clubs...... High and far....

Should have kept my mouth shut, play with them, and probably play better and then sell them in a year or two...

A bag is a bag and this is a very nice bag, real or fake.....

Buyer beware....

Yeah, those are fake. The bag and all the packaging are exactly the same as the "X-18s" my buddy bought in Shenzen. We negotiated that complete set which included some balls and crappy gloves all marked Callaway for about 200 CDN. Next time, I would have the set authenticated prior to purchase.

Oh my... so fake.

I'd be reporting this to the police if I were you.

I checked out that same set (guy drives a black honda accord) but I passed on them b/c they are fake. Just check the hosel on the #8 iron and you WONT find a laser etched serial # - hence they are fake. They are a real good fake though (in looks) but I wonder how good they are once you start playing with them.

Isn't your comment now 'Fraud' when you resell them in a year or two?
You bought them thinking they were the real deal, now you find out they are real nice 'Counterfeit Fakes'. Pass them on to someone else in a year or two and you are committing the same illegal actions as the guy who sold them to you :hush:   Then the new buyer joins TGN's forum and reads this thread from 2 years earlier. LMAO

Sorry...............they arent even good fakes :(

as well as the other valid points the others have made one of the biggest giveaways for me was you saying that the guy got them as a present and doesnt play golf.............yeah right havent heard that 1 before!
But the biggest letters he uses on his advert ( THE BIG BLOCK CAPITALS ) :

"Please note: ALL SALES ARE FINAL"

which as a matter of fact isnt lawful..people wrongly assume they cant do anything because the guy ripping them off said all sales are final!

well all prison sentences are lawful and i would think callaway would like this guys name and address as well as your local police because they dont like people selling cheap tat pretending to be their quality golf clubs!

REPORT THE GUY TO YOUR POLICE AND CALLAWAY

thats my advice anyways: good luck to ya :)

I gotta agree with Xander here. This requires some punishment to keep someone else from getting screwed. Enough is enough already. If this small group has had members ripped off this frequently how often does it occur worldwide?

I made a post on this forum a while back about these fakes and how they play. One word...brutal. Every shaft flexes differently, loft/lies/length are messed up, who knows what metal goes into each head. He also paid a max of $200 Canadian for these which includes everything. I hope you get your money back because this is BS.

This might be the worse thing I have ever heard from a TGN member!! If you were conned, try and get remediation from the seller. Tell the seller you want your money back or you'll REPORT HIM TO THE POLICE and CALLAWAY!! DON'T pass the fakes on this board, or any web board for that matter, as legit later on. Not only would this make you no better than the person you just purchased the clubs from, but you'll be ruining the great BST on this site for everyone else.

Disclaimer: this is just my opinion and does not reflect the opinions of this Board or any of its members

I did not mean to say I'd pawn them off and not call them fake. The bag, if I do not get my money back, I may donate to a tournament. It is a nice looking bag authentic or not.

I certainly have no intention of putting them up on ebay or elsewhere.

I actually have been thinking a lot recently about why we pay these prices for clubs.... How much is for the club, workmanship and quality and how much is for the advertising, sponsorship and prior R&D????

Are Callaways that much better then Ben Hogans, Jazz or Top Flite clubs (whose pro sponsorship and expenditures..... are much lower)?

Quality can be all over the place even with the expensive high end Name Brands.
Quality can be all over the place with components assembled too.
In the end, the set will only play as well as it is assembled to specification.

I personally don't trust the quality of any Name Brand. Most are high volume models assembled across the pond for peanuts for wages. I chose to rip them apart and start over. The worst a club should play is the day it is bought new with plastic still on the head.
